Looks nothing like an original but i like the look of it!

All new cars look the same, but then what about mk 3s

Mk3 Polo = Vauxhal Nova = Skoda something???

I think that because it hsn't evolved like the polo + golf, its quite a shock to see how much its changed!

Are they making a new Rado?

front end reminds me of a megane, rear end honda! I like the concept 10times more than what they've decided to build.

True. It's the same with all cars/manufacturers at a certain age. People say all the VW range looks the same now....it did in the 80's too though

i wan2 see the interior shots as the concept interior was awesome!!!

hmmm

not too sure myself, would have to see it in reality to decide

give me a mint modified old scirroco and a WOD of cash left over anyday.

fuckin ugly imo.

I'd only have the chrome grilled one, with the R32's and that you need a chrome grille on the new VWs. Silentbob1989 you gotta admit the back end of the mk3 is way nicer than the back of a Nova though, least we have a nice angled bootlid!!

Nothing will beat the Mk1 Rocco, one of the best looking VW's ever

Them Rocco's are sweet yea, not liking the oversized splitter on the 2nd pic, but the first is sweet.

How long did you have it?

Bought on 19th July 1983 £1000, sold 19th July 1985 £350.

Two years great student motoring, until the rust monster ate the front wings and bits of the floorpan.

Engine was an absolute beaut - only 1588cc with a Weber 32/34 DMTL - pulled like a train with 45mpg regularly!

I also subjected it to a bit of rallying, and didn't do the gears any favours when the battery got knocked off it's platform and fell upside down onto the alloy gearbox. The spilt acid ate a hole into the box and it was a week before I could get it flushed out.

Thought it sagged a bit at the arse, so to restore a nose down wedge look, inverted the rear spring cups on the struts and fitted Spax adjustables.

Originally metallic lime green (bit like the iRoc concept colour!) the previous owner had brush painted the black skin on.

I added the gold stripes, tiger skin seat covers, painted the alloys gold and added a JPS sticker or two. Oh, the fashion crimes of the early 80's..! :puke:

One thing for sure tho - it was still a feckin cool car to have!

My mates had Minis, Escorts, Chevettes & Sunbeams - this was faster off the blocks and handled as good as the Minis.

Mk.1 Golf GTi would have been first choice, but for cost - though I ended up payin same bloody insurance!

iroc.jpg

i like it

Doesn't look like a VW.

Still looks great though :D

looks better than the mk8 polo

reminds me of a fiat tho, but id buy one 8-)

Are they making a new Rado?

maybe...

Corrado.jpg

its a db9 from the back

theres no way that new rado is real, as much as i wish it was. too extreme even for vw concepts division. its gotta be a chop. looks awesome tho. can i pay to just have someone make me that bespoke?
