Toby - how low are you running there? Any problems at that height?

McTangus, I cant remember the site now, n cba to go onto cleaned-uk to find it again lol.

Its a pretty awful site n magazine anyways.

Ray, front is 80mm srpings n lowering topcaps. The back i haven't a clue, all i know is thats its perfect :D

And nope, no problems at all. Drive shaft knocks at full lock, but how often are you at full lock?

Thanks - I agree it's perfect both ends! And those are standard tyres - 145/80/13? I'm not going to go quite that low but just want to be sure I can at least run my steels if I need to get new tyres for my alloys.

These are the guys:

http://www.bevlyn.co.uk/index.html

I was recomended those by these guys:

http://www.qualityblasting.co.uk/prices.html

Took them to those and asked if they had anything fine enough as i was wanting to polish the wheels. They said it would be best if i went to that other place and got them chemically stripped.

Both are pretty cheap

The blasting place will do wheels for around £30 a set (ideal if you want them powdercoating after)

And the chemical place are doing mine at £10 per wheel.

i know that kid ahah

Slap that noob

Stripped the rear beam today ready for shotblasting.

Getting a load of bits blasted then powdercoated as soon as i can afford it (brakes, rear beam, chassis braces etc) so should be looking pretty tasty from underneath.

Got the wheels back today, they aren't great tbh. The people doing the chemical stripping had a few problems with them. Problems being that the paint and powder-coating really is indestructible

However, all of the paint is off so its just some powder-coating left. But only in places where I'm painting it so its all good.

Quite a bit of corrosion to sort out over the weekend then off to be primed at college on Monday or Tuesday.

Stripped the GT rear beam down the other day, gunna get the wire brush attachments on that over the weekend. Got the VW11 calipers to strip down and savage with the wire brush too.

On Thursday or Friday I should be collecting 3 cool items

G-laderseite ARB mounts

Geds style front lower brace bar

Un-branded TCA brace bar

If all goes to plan, i should be collecting a certain GT engine conversion (or most of) in 4 weeks too :D

Balls starting to roll a bit faster now

Probably will be sorting some other bits n bobs out over next week been as I'm using the last of my holiday, so I'm off work for a week for my 21st :D

Might get some legal pressed plates from GTI spring fest if Dubmeister are there. Did email them but I'm yet to receive a reply.

The teardrops as they stand, with no paint on them nearly ready for primer. Was meant to do it today but i ran out of time and didnt get rid of all the corrosion on the insides of the wheels.

and..... :ninja:

DSC00222.jpg

Guess how much?

I'm tempted to reveal it lol

How much is it gonna be then for getting them polished?

I just cant help but think they would look better if they were sprayed a nice colour with some decent rubber one, but thats just me, never really liked polished wheels.

Love them g40 bbs though, 13" are so cool when theyve got low-pros on.

Love whats happening about the GT beam aswell, just outa interest, where did you get the ARB mounts from? and how much they set you back?

I'm thinking about , well me and MR.P of here, designing some rear gear box mounts and some ARB mounts , simular to the PPP ones and the G-laderseite ones, that will be alot stiffer, the gearbox mounts offering smoother gear changes and he even says they make a simular noise to a rally cars gearbox. The ARB mounts being a cheaper option.

Hopefully its gunna cost the £70 to get them all polished. But depends what the polishers think when they see them. Shouldn't be more than £140.

The G-laderseit ARB's u mean? all 3 things in the list above are costing me a total of..... £60! :D so ill divide it by 3 n say £20?

The BBS will be my winters, gunna get them powdercoated anthracite grey. And run them on standard G40 sized tyres (whatever size they are)

Exactly the colour i was going to say!

I think black makes them too invisible.

Wheres the best place to get the G-laderseit ARB bushes then??

The only place i know that sell them is G-laderseit themselves. And there €65

PhilJ has started doing some that look exactly the same for £70 it think?

Ones I'm getting have done a few thou miles but they look near mint. and I'm hoping to get a full subframe at some point in the cars life so they wont be on forever.

Bshaw its got to me done!
