Last time i was in it was just after the re-build.

For the moment its just a pretty much straight swap. Until next year when it gets some sexual stuff (head work, cam, bike carbs, ABD bottom end) and it will get a bay respray then too and a really good tidy up/move around of unwanted stuff.

Picked up some shizz from the sand blasters today

The curbing on one of the wheels is pretty bad. not sure how to go about fixing it. Do i use chemical metal n risk it breaking off when tires are fitted. Or spend a load getting it welded up? Utter skint atm

You could do a trick i was thinking about. Get some cardboard strips and tape them up to the inside and outside of the lip that is damaged so its a kind of jig that you could apply filler to. That will then extend the lip back to normal size and then you could then shape the filler back to the shape of the existing lip.

Might have to be pretty hard filler, maybe some chemical metal filler , thats pretty good stuff , we use it at work to fill in welds.

you could also maybe just angle grind it all back flat? You might loose alot of lip though mind.

Also, them brake calipers look abit rough lol.

it will all start rusting so be quick with the paint!

Wheels should be primed on Tuesday, along with the strut brace.

Calipers will have to wait a while, however i can bring them into the house so theres no moister to make um rust.

Yeah get them somewhere dry.

If it was me id just not waste my time and grind them back abit. They dont need to look perfect.

Calipers are going already.

Wheels will be alright as they are alloy. Strut brace is being primed on Tuesday at college.

Going to get some Hammerite tomorrow and get the calipers all done.

Full brake upgrade, GT rear beam, All chassis braces, GT conversion, wheels, painting other bits n bobs, arch trims, doorcards and pods and probably other stuff I've forgotten.

Its not moving as fast as it needs to be still haha.

Got the geds brace bar primed along with the sunroof wind deflector.

Also got the hammerite out on the calipers. So they are ready to be put back together now :)

For some reason i bought a bike rack from Stanford hall from the official VW stall. Not sure why because i really couldn't afford it.

But anyway, got it for a tenner. Think its one of the genuine extras offered by VW, its got there stickers on it anyway. But its not made by VW themselves. It mounts to roofbars.

More updates next week.

Hopefully ill get away without using the roof rack, cutting down on things for this year, as last year we had a load of junk that tbh, we didn't use.

If things stay as they are, me n my 2 mates are all in one tent. where as last year, we all took tents haha. Splitting the stuff evenly between the cars. We will have a gazebo too this time round

I guess in a way i am lucky, although i still think I'm unlucky. I have 2 garages and a shed to myself

But, the 2 garages have no power and leak, and there pretty small. But i supose its better than no garage haha. I badly want a unit, shared between a few mates but they are so expensive.

Need to get that GT engine dropped in after next payday me thinks, then can concentrate on the brakes etc.

After having a good think about satin paint i think I'm going to go ahead with it.

But. what colour should I go for? I'm not sure how satin paint works so I'll have to ask the tutor at college about it.

I've been looking on google again and found a whole load more pictures of satin cars.

the choices I've knocked it down to are as follows

Purple

Burgundy

(same car but it looks different colours)

Battleship grey

ORRRR keep it exactly the same colour just in satin. But again I'm not sure how satin works/is made so got to ask about it all 1st.
