Yoko A539's will be good

Or you can get R888's and A04568736658576453783937 (whatever the fuck number it is) in the same size

Cheapest A539's i found (literally, it took me weeks to stumble upon these)

http://www.minispeed.co.uk/content/yokohama-a539-1755013

Just try all the mini specialists, they will be cheaper than anywhere else, extremely common on minis.

il shop about, 175/50/13 are gna be wide on my wheels :(

Be fiiine, i was going to run them on my RA's.

I know a lot of people running them just fine.

they should last the week.

the GED brace and calipers ready to fit?

  • Author

Not yet, brace wont be painted till next week at college. and wont be going on till i start changing the brakes over etc. Gunna do it all in one go.

Calipers need all new seals n whatnot. Skintness doesn't help haha.

God knows how I'm going to actually afford everything before Germany. funny thing too, i get paid 2 days after we get back. I need it before not bloody after lmao.

sweet, thats the main thing really, MONEY. I've spend enough this month.

I've got 2 weeks off work next month, so il be painting a few bits and bobs to tidy it up. your lucky to have the spray booth to paint properly. I'm rattle can'nig it haha

800quid would be a good taget to save for the trip?

Why are GT air intake systems so hard to come by?

Loads of AFM's but nothing that bloody attaches to them.

AND VW want nearly £300 for a in-line GT fuel pump lmao!!!

ANDx2 it decides to rain on my day off work, brilliant

Rant over

I was about to start sorting the fuel lines and ignition and maybe get her fired up for the first time , Now the rains come i cant even make a start.

Might be off out for a blast in my mates 2.0 mk2 GTI , One word...........rapid.

Haha I feel your pain dude I was in the same situation a couple of months back! Will come up soon enough don't worry.

I then managed to pick up the whole ECU/Loom/Injection/Ignition system for 50 quid absolute bargain!

Whats the ETA for the engine going in?

  • Author

29th/30th. Well thats the weekend i wanna do it.

Depends on weather I'm at work or not, weather it rains, weather people can come n help, weather I've got the crane by then, weather i have the fuel pump n air intake bits. The list probably continues to other factors too

Want it done in a weekend when theres no shows as i don't wanna bring it off the road.

Saweeeeet

Finaly declared the BBS with insurance, kept forgetting

Asked about the engine conversion. will cost me an extra £62.73 to have it put on for the rest of the policy from today. (ends end of July)

When it comes around to actually doing it (about a month down the line) will be even cheaper.

I'm pretty happy with that. Gotta love Adrian flux. :D

this is looking great :)

Then Off to Highly to pick Dan up (renegade) to go to Dom's over in Market Drayton.

166 miles later i was back home with a spare ARB, steering dampner, GT fuel pump, spare BBS RA and some other little bits n bobs.

What a day for blasting down B/A roads... been amazing tbh.

And heres a crap pic of the insect splattered polo.
