Hella isnt back on yet. Will be tomorrow though, need to bodge the wiring onto the GT loom.

Still not running :mad: but its bloody close now. Back on all 4's and turned around in the garage ready to connect the handbrake cable on one side (that i forgot before lol) and to plumb in all of the petrol tank hoses.

Then petrol and water and i think its ready for a turn of the key Bound to be something important I've forgotten though

and yes Neil, I'll be in all tomorrow other than if i take it for a swift drive when its running.

Just had a full on session. I started at 10 this morning and got back in the house at midnight tonight. With the help of Higgo and Brett for the best part of that time.

Just hoping now that some sealant works in the morning then i can actually turn the key for the 1st time lol.

Shame its not managed it to polo show :( will have to get it finished over the next week man!

Welll.... It didnt make it to poloshow so I guess I'm going to have to put pics up :(

My aim now is Tatton park next weekend. Should be do-able providing all goes well with fixing it this week!

The reason it didnt leave for poloshow;

Even after sealing bits of the water housing up, when i filled it up on the morning (7am) it still decided to piss water out as i was filling it. Water housing has to be cracked because all the other possible places are sealed with shit loads of stuff. Gunna be some fun getting it off though haha!

Brakes, even though we bled them a fair bit there must still be air in the system as you put your foot to the bottom and the car is still moving. They are doing something but not near enough to stop me even at about 10mph.

Gear selector needs a lot of fiddling as you go for 1st and end up going backwards . Didnt try looking for 3rd and 4th as i dare go that fast haha.

Plus side, It runs pretty damn sweet

Taps a load but I'm guessing thats because the oil needs to get around the tappets again. Timing seems to be spot on which I'm soooo glad about. As i was genuinely scared about getting the cam timing wrong.

So, few niggles to sort, some more stuff to paint. then some tidying up and its good to go back on the road

Got a letter of the council on Friday giving me a month notice..... to get out the garages due to complaints of me working on my car round there :mad:

Pissed tbh as I'm not harming anybody there. And now this has happened I'm going out of my way to piss the people in the flats off. Miserable fucking bastards. Got shit loads of stuff to find space for and a car that I've kept garaged for all my time owning it has got to stay outside. got a meeting with the council person on friday so I'm gunna try n keep them. I want them to show me proof of it lol.

Just cant believe some people, what right have they? its in the day so noise isnt a problem, i tidy up any mess and generally keep it tidy whilst I'm working as i get pissed off with mess as i loose shit. And i dont get in anybodys way, if for example i am i always move. I just don't get it.

I really am going to piss the people off that have been complaining tho. I'll go back to being a child, making lots of noise and playing knock a door run on them. Until i get fed up (which could take a while). I'm also going to go round there and just sit revving the engine. As apparently thats what I've been doing the past couple of weeks (when the engine has been out of the car)

What green? and the engine is actually really bright orange. But when i put the orange stuff on (rocker cover etc) it looks kinda red

And that is silver hi temp paint on the mani

Hadnt even thought of them as being Gulf colours haha. I just wanted orange a blue

ISV pipe???

Is that by any chance the pip going to the air intake pipe thingy? As no i haven't and i haven't a fucking clue where it goes to either?

Is it the oil breather? It has a really odd cap thing on the end of the breather, i cant make much sense out of it all if I'm honest

ETKA doesnt show anything, Haynes doesn't help at all. Pictures on here just show the pipe vanishing below the inlet. I'm clueless.

the ISV connects to the metal water pipe and the pipe from the air intake connects to that. You'll need to get that setup dude.

What goes to the inlet and the TB? As thats where I've got the pipes from on the water pipe going...

The inlet big bendy pipe from the AFM has a T for the block breather. The ISV takes air from the throttle elbow and puts it direct into the manifold at the bottom.

Currently waiting for a phonecall back off VW about some cool, hens teeth parts. Need to know if they can still get them or not. They only did them on the real lower spec MK3's and you cant find any now for shit. Not spilling on what it is though

Also, due to my spi thermo housing also being foobar'd the car isnt going to be back on the road until after i get paid again.

Cant be fucked with 2nd hand thermo housings as theres too much of a chance that it could be cracked inside so getting a brand spanker from VW. My VW shopping list keeps growing and growing haha.

VW action at the pod WILL be its 1st show and it should be 99% complete by then.

What's not available mate? I got my second hand GT housing for £2. Worked fine. Same on my breadvan... Works fine!

Genuine parts are good though, especially brand enw ones!
