I always create cool happenings!!

I haven't a great deal to sort out now. It really is just painting bits and fitting bits and cleaning. Bays filthy after putting the engine in, and loosing half the coolant. I still dunno how I'm gunna get that sealer stuff off from the thermo housing haha! as there was a lot of it.

My suggestion would be try that gasket scraper or a fresh stanley blade?

gasket scraper was going to be the 1st thing i used anyways lol.

But yeh, i hadn't thought of the stanley blade :)

pffft, Oil breather is on backorder from VW

Thermo housing and everything related (new seals n bolts n washers) is being collected tomorrow and will be on the car before I'm at work at 2 (hopefully)

Bonnet and some other shizz is going back on the car tonight (in about 10 mins when brettemon gets here)

Tires are going on the RA's Saturday, hopefully get the tracking done on sat too. Nearly Nearly finished then :D

Real poo-er about the oil breather pipe. I'll double-check to see if there's one lurking in the garage, but from memory I think I only have the one. Worth a look though

This looks sweet in the flesh mate!!! Very clean and tidy! It'll do you proud.

IT WORKSSS!!!!!!!!!!! no leaks now or anything. Did a bit at 1st but when it warmed up it stopped, guessing something expanded and sealed properly.

Tyres are being fitted to my RA's tomorrow and hopefully the tracking is being done :D

Then it really is just finishing touches

Hmmmm, just found a replacement oil breather pipe from a company called 'volksbits'

But its the same price as from VW and doesnt look overly great (in a oil breather pipe kinda way) So I'm not sure what to do :|

8-)

Started leaking water again

But no, really. it has actually started leaking water again, there isnt enough of a seal between the head and the water housing, even with the fresh rubber seal. Gunna have to get some sealant on the go n try n sort it.

has the head got pitting? not allowing a great seal? or are you re using the old housing? the housing can become warped when there removed they are not going to sit flat. if you pull it off again give it a check against a flat surface. you may be able to just sand away at it until it sits better.
