haha well i try and stay away from the classifieds. How do they fasten on? or is it a case of find your own way of fixing them lol

  • Author

They screw on in the same places as the original ones, besides the ones around the speakers, just make some little holes :) There are things there already for the screws to go into.

aahhh jolly good then, consider it a deal. I'm hoping to be at the rr day so ill have them off you then or if i dont make it then ill arrange collection because I'm always going bham uni to see my gf anyways so its not far off my route

Not ideal, but needs must

hmm, €80 in split bolts alone, these PLS best turn out to be some sexy motherfuckers.

yes! cant beat grinding brakes down :) saves running a shitty spacer

  • Author

Still have to run spacers

only 5mm, but its still a spacer

u daft ass, next time just get some pads faced so it pulls the caliper in closer.

Grinding calipers

If needs must.

What the hell are you doing with this caliper i've got, numpty.

  • Author

Waiting to get it off you at the RR LOL

i dont need them anymore, they were going on the breadvan. But now I'm keeping them as spares encase these break or something

I cant see it being a problem, because I've not taken material off the bit that bends round, just the face.

Brett ran them like this on his G for a few months, no problemos there.

its true

the bit that's at 90 degree... if id have taken material off that then yeah, it'd be weakening it loads. But the bit i have taken off is just like a lump sticking off the side for no given reason.

Most VW stuff is over engineered, ill go with, I've removed the over engineered part of the caliper

 if your happy..... remind me closer to the time of any event... i'll follow you  Joking aside, I'm sure they'll be fine. Only 1 way to find out i suppose haha

 They'll be fine i'm sure.

I've just spent 3 days (on and off) reading this from the beginning. My eyes are tired and tbh, I thought you would of had it on the road by now. But, it does seem to be getting somewhere now. It also makes me want to get an 1.6 16v AFH Hybrid on standard injection into the 'loon (after i sort out the bodywork obviously) All this bike carbs thing is a bit too fiddly. Get it in and running first then build up the Bike carbs from there.

Brake situation though...........i wouldnt do it. I'd rather run 10-12mm spacers.
