haha, here's a bit of an update :p

Went to Kiz's 'palace of love' as Guy put it, yesterday. To collect some treasure :p

Cant thank Kiz enough for what he did for me yesterday.

Replaced a fucked cv boot for me (as he found a spare lying around) not forgetting re-building it for me after it fell to pieces

Swapped both outer CV's to MK1 golf items

Got a stuck steering arm off a strut

And not forgetting... giving me an epic set of coilovers :D

So, got the full set ready to go on now besides a spring nut that we couldn't find and some spacers that are being made atm.

Muchos love for Kieran <3

Cheers dude! :D

Hopefully have them fitted (fronts atleast) this week :)

Coilovers are fitted, kinda.

Missing all sorts of nuts and bolts that I've lost over the past year and a bit of it being in bits

Need ARB mounts also.

That skint though, i cant even sort the missing nuts and bolts out haha!

Next payday should see masses of progress

Can get arb mounts and missing nuts and bolts

Can also get a new clutch and engine mount rubber, so i can get the engine built up and dropped in :D

I feel pissed off because i couldn't finish the front suspension today because of the huge amount of missing parts. However, today has seen the biggest progress to this in over a year

Shame I'm stuck for a month again :(

I've got a single roll bar mount (u bit) if you need it. A large parcel of parts went your way today, so your rear setup should all be there.

my garage is immaculate now:-) it was a right state the other week i felt well bad.

Going to do some drawing for the rear spacer setup and paper work for you also

Its the blocks i need kiz, the g-ladderseit ones. Cheers though :)

haha, its alright, you should see mine at times

Them MK1 nuts and bolts for the hubs... do indeed cost a fortune :o

The ones you gave me seem fine though...

yer they will do the same job, il be at my computer later doing that assembly layout

Another update.

Only small but its something :)

All the primer is now one colour. instead of lots

Fitting new front panel

The dents

Off and hammerited rusty bits

After 6 hours of work getting the stupid thing to work and farting around the the bumper panel (straightening it up) it finally fitted.

Next job is to get the primer blue, and get the hella grill back on.

Then its ready to go to the pod :)

New gearbox on Friday :D

where did you get your replacement bit i cant find 1 anywhere lol

  • Author

It was a hadrian panels part.. got it from some random motor factors.

16v bro...

never changed my mind, apart from wanting a G40 lol

Yeah, I've put a MK3 sump on.

Its quite a bit, like a good couple of inches higher...

  • Author

He did... but something went wrong with the engine he had it on.

And it doesn't work on all AFH's, only ones with the same type oil pump.

When we having another dominoes day putting this in then boyo? :p

Toby ain't allowed. He wastes it all. Eats half a slice and he's full!

oi. cheeky.

he loves it ;)

In all seriousness though ben theres always room you know that

Yep, engine died and I saw it as an omen and never wanted to try it again just incase

Besides all mine have been the later style pickup which it can be done with but it involves chopping a section out of the pickup and welding it back together so its just the right height. Too long and the sump will block it off once all bolted up, too short and it could end up sucking air up instead of oil under certain conditions... Not a risk I could be arsed with given my past luck while fitting mk3 sumps

Might be up for a trip up while you boys are pissing around with this seens as its turning into a bit of a party
