Seriously, if I sell this lot, save for a couple of months, I could buy a g and swap the engine, then sell the rest of the g on, all in time for poloshow. Just depends if the right g comes up at the right time for the right price.

I have nearly everything but a clutch now, and all the little odds and sods I know I'll find I need on the way. But then there's exhaust and the rolling road tuning that cost a bloody fortune. And it's going on a rr, I see no point fitting carbs to not he getting the most out of them.

Seriously I've never fitted a new clutch to any of my afh conversions, if it weren't slipping in the doner car and it looks to have some meat on it its being used... Never had one fail yet and its now running 140 break, stop being a whining bitch

Buy engine - replace cam belt kit - fit engine - done. Where are these massive costs coming from? Shit the afh con in the blue mk3 had been sat outside in the rain with no plugs for fuck knows how long before I bought it, I didn't even bother doing the cam belt, just chucked it in and blasted about in it for a year.

Ready for polo show yeah.. Its just insurance is the issue.

Breadvan insurance doesnt run out till after then. That insurance wont let me do an engine swap. So i cant simply swap from the green one to the blue one.

That insurance is what will get my my 3rd years no claims. Which is needed. I'm not insuring the blue one with only 2.. it already costs enough. When its literally a few weeks difference I'm just not doing it.

It will have an MOT by then (i hope) it will simply be a case of waiting for the breadvan insurance to run out so i can renew and go to the blue one. Fully comp with an agreed value

Unless i can work some sort of a deal out and get it insured before poloshow with 3 years no claims.. ill be there in the breadvan otherwise.

Attempted to progress today, didn't get too far.

Got the flywheel back on, went to put the tensioners and stuff back on only to realise i didn't have any of the correct bolts for them. so yeah.. kinda stopped at that

Had a play with the rear suspension, realised i was missing another bit from that

By now, my motivation was lacking so i turned to doing housework.. been as id done none whilst my mom had been on holiday for a week lol.

Found out what size C spanner i need atleast, and found the part numbers for these odd bolts for the tensioner and pulley.

Payday Friday... more parts shall appear and more progress shall be seen.

Springfest should give me some more motivation too :p

I know what toby means by wanting to have everything ready to drop it in , in one go, same plan as me, but I know that no matter how much I plan it wont go to plan nothing does .

So I'm just going get as much as i can done and then fit it and see what i've forgotten and just get on with then as quick as possible, hopefully within a week but ideally a weekend..

Carbs bro. got everything i need for it other than a inline fuel pressure gauge and fuel hose. And then the RR setup.

I know its taking the piss... But try doing all of this, having a life, buying myself clothes, paying those nice people at sky/virgin so i can watch the F1, insurance on the breadvan, saving for Germany, going to shows etc... on £800 a month

I get about £150 a month for the car if I'm lucky. And that soon goes.
