Well, i ordered the new bits from VW, so my tensioners are now on

But because they didnt arrive yesterday i now have no help to get the head on. So whenever me n Brett are next off at the same time, the engine should be built and ready.

Prepping the camcover for paint atm :)

Why do you need two people to fit a head? I know you only have scrouny arms but surely they are capable of torquing a set of head bolts up?

To torque the bolts up. I cant do that aswell as stopping the engine from moving whilst its balanced on bricks on the floor. I tried it with my GT engine, didnt work, and i had a wall to lean it up against then in a garage, this time the engines in the house

If i had a stand, i could do it as all itd take was one foot to stop the stand from moving.

Lay the engine on its front or back once your torquing them up, use the engines weight and shape against it. Did mine fine it was more awkward than having a stand or a second person but not the end of the world

Pressed the new engine mount rubber in, which was a bit of a nice person to do. And took the MK3 alt pulley off, need to look at the conversion thread now cus i know something needs modifying, just cant remember what lol.

What torque to AFH head bolts need to be?

Toby, check the diameter of the suspension strut for me, the tube that the shocks slide into i mean.

I'm guessing its 2"

You just need to make a little spot in the 6n pulley for the woodrift key to slot in to. With it only being alloy its a piece of urine to do at home with basic tools (i used a mini hack saw)

i sawed the back spacer bit off the pulley, then put a slot for the key, then i could use all the mk2 alternator spacer shit
