Front spring rates: 300ib

Rear spring rates: 272ib

With Helpers at: 135ib front and 140ib rear

In comparison witthhhh.... Alex's G40 (wich is probably set to near perfect for a polo)

Fronts at 275lb are quite firm, but not unbearably so

Everybody tells me MK1 golf coilovers are FAR too stiff... Going on that info i disagree.

Thats for the front by the way, looks like you've got some extremely stiff springs for the back, should be around 200lb i would have thought!

Fronts should be perfect though i reckon. Not too stiff, but stiff enough to deal with lows.

Forgot to mention... spent the evening playing with alternators.

Sorted the pulley out, and butchered several spacers to accept the woodruf key (or whatever its called)

The alt i had on the GT didnt have one, none of the spacers or anything had the notch for it

I took apart another alt i had (from the GT conversion i bought a while back) as i thought id lost the key when i took the other apart. Only to realise there just wasnt one after paying more attention.

Funny, how the pulleys and all related stuff is completely different on two alternators from a MK3

And no luck on the windscreen, the scrappy annoyed me, causing me to completely forget to ask. Think they only had a MK4 anyway tbh, as the 1st thing i asked was if they had any MK2 polo's and the guy seemed unsure.

Probably not as basic as a MK3 polo/MK1 golf setup though....

Mine are ta's and the rears are soft, Ben almost shit a brick when I demonstrated how soft they were by dropping the back end by pushing down on the bumper with my foot. Tried it on his and nearly snapped my knee when it didn't move at all

The way these coilovers are a bit shit anyway as you're always changing the spring tension when you adjust, some jap car coilovers have adjustable mounts, not platforms

If you are still stuck for bits tobes let me know as might have some in my warehouse I call a garage. Also I have some 6n coilovers springs in the garage. They any good to any of u coilovers lovers?
