Headlining spray off eBay is top mate, did mine in black suede too at the beginning of the summer and it survived the hot weather we had, no sagging whatsoever. Strongly reccomend it and it doesn't stink £15 for three cans, I used 2 and a bit cans. Oh and good luck with the c pillars they're so awkward.

i need to know work out what to use on the underside of the openair roof, as its like a vinyl/textured fabric....some form of dye maybe as if i used paint it would crack with opening/closing...and by trimming the roof lining makes it stand out even more so need to sort something!

also gonna have a hunt through the scrappies for all black visors grab handles etc!

Just spray the visor's and handles Christian. Heres a pic of mine when i first done them. Aslong as there done right there fine. Been used alot and hasn't scratched or peeled etc. :)

i want it looking as factory as possible if you get me....just been informed of a VHT Vinyl Dye paint. that on inspection looks to give a nice matt appearance

says it is suitable for plastics but i am unsure on whether it will look gloss or not...and i dont want it gloss.

yours do look good mind....may paint and if i dont like change them for oem parts! if it isnt chipping it sounds promising

I got some propa upholstory glue, brushes on from a 5L tin! Made by Dunlop and what's used for repairs to bus/train seats etc. Got loads left after i did my sunroof panel headlinig with it. If you're Mancunia way soon, you are more than welcome to borrow it.

is it quite forgiving in terms of letting you work the fabric into curved areas?

Yeah thats no trouble will PM you my post code. This glue sets like elastic rubber band type, so will not allow sagging! Pretty thick to brush on, but you should be able to slide fabric into position early on.

Christian- VHT is a matt look mate...i have about 6 cans of the stuff which i used to spray the majority of my 6N2 dash...get it from Frost.co.uk.

It works on plastic too...

My headlining has major sag...i've given up trying to fix it...let me know if that dunlop stuff from Nick works out for you...

oops...i mean my actual headlining is sagging not the cloth on it as i had it done pro...if that stuff doesnt work...get yourself on ebay and theres a guy doing a kit form of 3mm thick nylon backed foam (which is what we have from factory)...he does it in black with 2 cans of high temp paint (same stuff Jaguar use)...he also does a contact adhesive...slightly more expensive and i've just bought 3 cans of it to do some re-trimming in my golf...looks like decent stuff!

few test pieces i have done before i tackle the headlining...

collected some contact adhesive off Nick_S and i can only compare it to like honey in consistency. i have found the best way to work it is lay it onto the plastics i am trimming and let it begin to go off and then shape the material into place, this works particularly well when doing the edges. BIG THANKS AGAIN Nick!

not rushing anything as i want it looking good...plus the glue reaks and its not ideal to be doing it in my kitchen where i have been doing it tonight. may have to head to sisters and abuse the garage esp when i do the roof.

i am letting the glue set overnight before working the material round the more fiddly areas!

Looking good so far, i would reccomend getting some help when you do the headliner, one to lay it down gradually and the other to smooth it out one end to the other. My bro helped me do mine on the decking in the back garden and it was blowing a gale with newspaper flying everywhere, it wasn't easy . Have you tackled the C pillars yet?

no mate....i think i am going to contact a trimmer and get them to make me up a piece to replace the grey colour sections as i wont be able to paint it or use fabric spray.

i may well give it a go myself tho trimming it in material as if i remember rightly i can remove it from the frame the roof sits in but its a roof out job! which is a blag esp in this weather and no shelter at the minute

not took touched the c pillars yet mate only reason being that all the other bits of trim i had were duplictes so haven't actually removed them from my car...the c pillars are gonna come out one night this week, imagine they are going to be fiddly to trim :meh:

they're probably the hardest part of it all, especially where it has a 90 degree curve at the bottom, if you're impaitent like me then it'll piss you off

the glue i have got literally drys like an elastic so i am hoping it will give me the flexibility to fit it....i only did a couple of bits tonight as i was getting annoyed as the glue was stuck to my fingers lol!

i know i need to stop when i start thinking like that as i will cock it up we sound alike!

Weather is proper bad got 3 inches of snow in my road

Gutted for you :( did similar the other week on the ice went straight ahead at the end of my road and mounted the kerb my splitter took most of the brunt of the hit.

Suprised you could even move, my cars stuck, I moved it forward this morning about a foot and couldn't move it any further as it had plowed the snow and the wheels were just spinning About 8 inches of snow round this way.
