Not really Mr.Walsh £7 a key cut from code or photo especially those with 'laser cut' HUF HAA or VW similar keys. So be warned Ladies and Gents!

There is software that some key cutters use to read the profile and then the machine CNC cuts it.

haha Mabhs thats quality mate, but yeah i knida agree exactly whay i haven't poste dpics of mine yet and puls i now have a boating cork thing on them so i dont loose them lol third time this wekend I've lost the keys found them in the airbox yesterday

Those with rolling code algorithm immobilisers are safer as they are harder to defeat but those without should be concerned as insurance companies often do not pay out for cars stolen by keys or their contents robbed without forced entry.

How can something have a perception of depth from a 2d image?

Id be more concerned with house keys,you'd only need it to be close. Anyway,i collected keyrings before i felt collecting things was weird,so i have hundreds. I dont use them,but my favorite is a Lego Yoda. If i dont use something,it generally gets thrown out. But i can neither let Yoda get battered nor evicted. Its quite a dilemma.
