Still need to paint the inside as I just drove it around in primer.

Reasons for generally slacking -

Lived 100 miles away from the car

got a job building F1 cars, then changed job

spent my time helping on other cars

Spent the remaining weekends freezing my nuts off running a R1 in the MRO Powerbikes

Since Last time -

I have machined up another Eaton

Designed another reinforcing bracket for the charger

Got everything I needed for a 7-Point cage

Removed the sunroof etc and begun to cut it all out. Will probably find a peice a renegade sheet of CFRP to bond on the top.

Started to adjust my cold-start map. Would have some fancy graphs but my Car-Laptop has been borrowed for a day-trip to Snett.

Added some webbing (for what its worth) to the bracket

Will try to take some photos for how to cut the sunroof out but judging by current picture content I wouldnt hold your breath.

If anybody has the following then I need to purchase -

1. Complete side repeaters - bulb holders,bulbs and orange plastics etc. No idea where they went but I need them to pass an MOT.
2. Those rubbery/plastic things that go underneath the front seats. The ones that stop the seat rocking backwards and forwards.

Pull your finger out.

I'd be inclined to agree, given that my car pinked like a bastard after he'd finished with it.

Another weekend, another mission.

My compressor decided to shit its pants big time so most of Saturday was spent finding out the ring had ars raped the bore seven different ways. Got bent over for a new one but such is life.

Sunday was mainly spent removing the sunroof etc from the car. I was not happy to grind off the spot welds so I took a saw to the roof cutting around the brackets.

Once that was off I marked a clean line and fettled with grinders/saws/sanders until I was happy. Also chopped out the rear seat brackets as I am never going to use them.

Going to cover the inside edge of the roof with an edging strip and bond a sheet of cfrp over the hole but I am not entertaining the idea of paying for a sheet as scene prices so that will wait.

Cage starts to go in on Saturday assuming it does not rain.

I used to work in composite manufacturing so I know its easily done, I just don't really have the desire to make a sheet myself. Got some composite panels at work but I cant see myself experiencing any IEDs so they may be a tad overkill.

Giorgiooooo, got you are shims matey- and what have you done with your old fooooked eaton? i want to do some work developing a new part and need an old eaton charger for the measurements. il even let you have a set of the plans- which i bet you £100 you will want;-) you know me- always on the tinker for more power.

I actually drove to your house 2 days ago on my way back from Nuneaton on the off chance you were outside.

I have the old eaton in a garage so will bring it up this weekend. I already have cad drawings of an eaton, what do you need to know? As for the super bracket - Engine bay getting assembed this weekend so will be able to finilise numbers.

nope- not outlet- inlet! i want to put the throttle body on the charger inlet side so i need to make an adapter - possibly bolt on- more likely a welded mod. but it will remove that ridiculous whining noise- i have to drive round with ear defenders on!

Emptied my phone and dug out some images. I have been distracted but still doing some work.

Seats, Cage etc

Did some racing. Car was average to poor. Driver was worse but the fun continues.

Took a year off racing as I had no money but lots of time -

Removable front end and a custom intercooler so I could get rid of the gashness which used to be my old one

Picked up some Fibre glass panels but the rear glass did not meet MSA regs and it was shit so that was all changed.

And chop

And put diffuser

Since been powdercoated but I am crap with taking pictures

That takes me up to a few months ago. Got brake dramas, aero updates, wheels, interior gucci-fication and some more jazz to sort before the season starts in March. And its going to be road legal for the first time in 3 years.....

Just had a read of the whole thread, this car is amazing man!!

Lovely car a real inspiration

Passed its MOT then drove 50 miles to Curbrough, survived a small excursion sideways in the grass, then drove home.
