just dont understand why so many of your posts are negative or pointless! you strike me as the kind of person who quick to pick holes in other peoples work, yet to afraid to post pics of your own car for fear of being ripped to shreds! prove me wrong post a pick up of your stunning mk3!

Lets hope not^^

you never have anything constructive to say do you. i'd really like to see your car, cos you seem to have a very set view on how a mk3 should look.

pictures speak a thousand words

Lol to be fair I've seen it and it looks good. And not naming names, but there are a few other people on here that dont really have anything constructive to say. But it wouldnt be as much fun if wasnt like this

Oh and by the way 16"s should be the new 15"s going by the pic of the blue mk3!

what does it matter if my polos stunning or not :S i dont really expect you to value an opinion of some random person on a computer.

why do you care so much why I'm so "negative"?!

hang on il find a pic of my fantastic polo

fair play to you. not really anything to rip it on, looks std bar the wheels and a mahosive drop. you could have cleaned it though

yea just been down the m4 so didnt really have a chance! wheels are getting changed next month

Saf who owned the mk1? Does look a bit different, not sure weather i like it or not. But there is something quite appealing about it

isn't it a lot nicer when we all jus get along?

That Mk1 is horrible, no offence. As for the topic, I think 15's are the limit for a Mk3 before they begin to look silly

was muglys original, had blue colour concept leathers and carbon door cards (which i ended up having sold the carbon and kept the door pods and recovered it all) rallye front end and a clipper kit, and 17s. guy called kofi owns it now, absolute diamond and I'm lookin forward to catching him at a show soon. had a chromed 8v lump in it but soon to be breathing turbo 16v power :D hes got 16s coming for her iirc

Fair play. I think its the rallye front end that really does it for me. Still its not going to be everyones taste, but that makes it better

hmm the mk1 sure is intresting!

i wouldnt mind it myself!

I used to run 195/40-16 on my square. Perfect for motorway driving. 165/40-16 is right in the middle of 195/45 and 185/50, 195/40-16 is only 3mm bigger in diameter than 195/45-15

I now run 8-13 with 175/50. If you search you will find pics of mine

if you compare the rolling radius of a 165/40/16 to 185/50/14 or a 195/45/14 you will be shocked.

Any idea what the rolling radius for a 165/35/17 is?

Would be interesting to see that on a mk3!!

they work on them crazy jap K-cars, i reckon it could be pulled off.......

hello monster truck height!

how would that be?? if they are only a few mm taller than a 195/45/14?

yeah i dint read that rolling radius thingy

Brit look is so naff. As for 16's on a Polo Mk3...no...just no. 15's are so difficult to pull of...16's just take the biscuit. Regardless of rolling radius a wheel that big has no place on a car like a Polo. Larger wheels tend to be fitted to cars to facilitate the fitment of larger brakes, now your not telling me people need to put on 280mm+ brakes now are you?

I can't imagine a wheel that has 2inches extra in diameter working out as well as a 195/45 regardless of how thin the wheel/stretched the tyre.

Yep and double yep!

BBS LM's on a mk3 anyone?

aha. dont they only do those in an 18"? someone do it.

Firstly, that blue mk1 golf looks quality, secondly, james's mk3 polo turbo looks the bollocks on those 16's and actually handles better than having 15's on it.

James is no slouch on the road and was looking to get a better top speed which the 16's acheived. They set the car off nicely and make it stand out from the crowd which is what he wanted. Musicman liked it on wednesday at no-rice and took some pics

Brit look is so naff.

You will burn for such treachery haha. Brit look is the VW scene's heritage man!! Don't be so quick to disregard it. It'll come back and everyone will be rolling MK2 big bumpered golfs with 17s tucked right up into the arches!!
