I'm wanting to remove the strips on the doors on my polo 6n2, they are the glued on ones so am i right to think they wont be holes underneather?

I like that blue with the black accents. I swear I've seen some pictures on here somewhere...

if they had no holes, youd see every 6n2 virtually with them taken off!

i think you'd need to have them filled in, gawd knows i've never really looked at a 6n2 up close.

they just look like they are stuck on, they aint in a recess, my friend does bodywork so if i get them took off and theres holes i'll just get him to spray them blue and stick them back on. i'll put up another post in a few weeks wen I've had it dun.

I'm only talking bout the side ones, on the door. just thought id add that incase people dint noticed id said that on the first post. the ones on the bumpers are in a recess and clip on and off. I'm getting thm ones sprayed, :)

they do have holes in for locating pegs on the molding

does spraying bumpstrips yourself come out ok? thinking of 6n

^^ its as good as any bodywork spraying at home.. depends on prep and lenght of time taken to do them. i think on a mk4 mk5 strips cc-d lok great abit differant from them removed anywayz

how would i prep them as they seem 'rubber like' last time i checked. the only thing is getting them back on - would prob ahve to leave the glue on there so you know where they go on.

they wil go on in the holes, and using primer.. plastci primer a flat back and spray then a flat back polish and lacquer.

and at halfords there is a tape called trim repair tape, I've just gopt soem for ma plates and rear badge great stuff £4.99 at my local

I didnt know that 6n strips and holes underneath there - so I'm guessing people that take them off use car filler to fill'em.

right when i did my mirror i used abit of white spirit on a rag to clean greases e.t.c off waited until t had dried applied a few coats of primer (plastic primer as it was a brand new mirrror and was plastic) then u sanded it smooth with 1500 wet and dry. then wiped with white spirit again and then applied a couple of coats of grey primer and sanded the same as ebfore, wited til itw as dry then sprayed top coat sanded when itw as dry so it was smooth and t-cutted it up so it had no scratches then wiped again and finally lacquer, after than a quick wipe and polish SORTED :p

6N2 ones definatly have them underneath, was gonna get all my bumpstrips removed/smoothed for £250 off a mate, but didnt bother in he end so just got them coloourcoded, butthe door ones definatly have holes.
