A bit of oil in the filter is nothing to worry about, if theres a lot then your engine is breathing heavily which could mean it's due a rebuild, or it will just go on for ever but a bit more oily than normal

hmmm oh and he also runs like sh*te if he doesnt have at least quater a tank .... is tht kinda normal for a car tht age ??

our 1 liter polo does something similar,some times its great an nips along nicly and other times it like its being strangled lol,got my mate to do a diagnostic check and nothing was found,i in the past have modded the air box and it seems it was gettin too much warm air so i blcked up the extra holes and hey presto it seems fine now so try the cold air intake or maybe the cat!!

diagnosis check maybe put a new fuel filter on too just see what pops up
