i saw this on the back of an AA truck one night a while back in lakeside services near the dartford bridge

Some advice to an estate newbie... I've just brought a silver 2001 estate off my uncle for what i think was a bargain price. However, i'm trying to work out the engine. Think it may have had a different plastic engine cover fitted during a service???.

Like i said its a 2001 (51) 1.6 SE petrol. Engine code on logbook says AUR, I'm assuming its the 100bhp engine. However, the plastic cover says 1.6 SR? Anyone shed some light or did the garage just put the wrong cover back on..

Thanks

Andy

Looks good in silver. I used to have a dark blue 1.9 TDI one about 5 years ago but ended up selling it to fund other projects. I always regretted it cos in the long run it would have probably saved me alot of money! Plus it was awesome. 8-)

Cool stuff man and inspirational for my barge which i will be putting a thread up about soon. If you go to some shows we'll have to get a few polo estates together.

i think the last time I looked at this thread was when you first got your car back from getting the air ride fitted, a whole 3 years ago! Come along way since then and looks so good! Nice to see a change to a modded 6n. Top work

needs a tidy up now.. kinda got side tracked. had to drop one of the 17s i bought off to have a dent taken out the back of it.. :-(

...and may even get the wing sorted as damage was done about a year and a half ago.

Good to see some updates & as has been said above, the car is inspirational for any variant owner 8-)

I was originally after an 01> Golf tdi estate, but whilst I was looking for "the right one" a polo estate caught my eye, did a bit of research into them, found this thread & its all gone downhill since  I bought the polo (an '01 110 tdi) & been busy finding/buying bits for it, not going too mad as need to transport the family & my toys in it, but should have it somewhere near in the next month or so, thread & pics up soon :-)

David's still alive and kicking -> good going' mate! Love the Schmidt's!!

You got any plans for the weekend of the 19th of June 2011? If not, and you fancy visiting more Dutch-Euro-mainland meets -> cruize up to ours, 7th International VAG Meeting in Asten, Holland 8-) (can't blame a guy for promoting right David?)
