the things you do come back to you

Featured Replies

Pinning this up for a while just so everyone who knows her sees it.

Can't believe how easily we could have lost you. I don't think there's many people who can say they've been hit by a car and the car's come off worse.

Someone was looking over you then. Me and the others aren't quite so etherial, but we're looking over you now, whatever you need, just say.

Blimey mate! Glad your ok :)

Martin.

Ouch! Your poor cars ruined.

Get well soon tho. Looks as though theres lots of peeps looking after you harry!

Blimey, that says it all really! I'm really glad you're as ok as you can be given the circumstances, I know from experience that it could have been so much worse.

The main thing is that you're ok, such a shame about the car (it looked a minter too, and black!), but you can get another.

Just glad you're still here! :)

wow! glad your ok but your right it is times like these you realise who your true friends are and how lucky you are to have them and your family around you

take care and get well soon

luke

Saw your facebook status and thought something bad may have happened! Hopefully you'll make a speedy recovery and be back tinkering with your collection of dubs soon!

Me and a mate who's an Rac Patrol were only talking about roadside jobs the other day, he's had a few near misses too!

I still can't believe you walked (well ran) away from that one. Didn't expect the car to look that bad when you showed me the pics yesterday.

So glad you're still with us, dunno what i'd do without you, there ain't any other girls in derby who are as mad about dubs as you, i'd be lost

I know its pretty much all been said by everyone else, but I'd just like to say how sorry I am to hear of your accident.

I hope you make a full and speedy recovery ASAP.

Very best wishes,

Richard.

wow glad your okay that sounds mad i got a metal plate in my head dueto crashing in my mk 2 polo hit a telgraph polll then a tree at 90 it does make you think bout life an how short it can b glad you ok an no seriuos injurys get well soon

Christ thats bad! Good to hear your ok though.

R.I.P mooneyes. Brave lil Mk2 coupe.

Glad you're ok, sounds like you had a lucky escape. Yeah it's worth echoing what others have said, it's never worth tinkering with your car on the side of the road.

I've got a story to add too. My parents' neighbour, Rob, had a flat tyre on his Saab 9-3 on the M4 near Magor in South Wales. He pulled over onto the hard shoulder, did the sensible thing, got out and stood behind the barrier to call the AA because he didn't fancy changing the tyre on the side of the road.

Literally while he was on the phone a Tesco delivery truck drifted out of its lane at 70mph. It wasn't that far into the hard shoulder, but it ripped the Saab in half just a few feet in front of him! If he'd tried changing the tyre himself he'd have been a goner!

Hope you make a speedy recovery, Best wishes! Dan

On a side note, the ammount of well wishers makes me very proud to be part of this forum!

Someones looking after you.

Hope you get better soon and that bastard gets banned, was he blind or what?

car looks really bad, would hate to know what injuries you would have had if you were in it.

omg, you're so lucky. If it'd had been any earlier and you were still inside the car, it'd have been really bad!

Any later, other traffic could have hit you from the other side of the road. So lucky that you were knocked out of harms way rather than crushed inside or underneath your own car.

I wish you all the best and hopefully you'll have a speedy recovery.

That's quite bent...

...roll cage moves up the list of things to buy.

Fuck me..cant believe you were in front of that Charlston. But your still here and thats the main thing to think about! Yeees!

I'll be coming down to pat your head and see your battle scars. 80s love, Sal x

Thanks guys...hehe don't worry Rach I can't wait to get back into working on the cars as soon as I'm well enough. Got major motivation for getting the replacement sorted. Not feeling driving for a lil while tbh...

Muscles feel even worse today, the burns on my shoulder are drying out a bit but the rest of it is still proper gammy and sore so still having to get the dressing changed daily. Feels like my back is on fire so this weather ain't the best. I'm really lucky to have everyone round me helping me out and looking after me, it was the thought of my family and all my lovely friends that kept me going in the hour or two after it happened, bunch of legends..xx

Yeah if I'd been inside/behind/under the car- or not leaning on the front panel I'd be a goner for sure...Not been sleeping very well as thoughts like that (and other stuff) have been playing on my mind a bit but I'm sure it'll get easier.

Sal- 80's love fo sure, you don't know how pleased I was the shades survived intact, my hairband that was with them was smashed to smithereens?? My mooneyes air freshener was still there too, hadn't even had a chance to put it on the mirror as it had only arrived that morning. :(

Thanks again everyone, reading through your replies is cheering me up and it means a lot, believe. :)

Dudette, you need to stop thinking about "ifs and buts", i know its easier said than done but that shit will mess you up, not good. Just keep telling yourself that theres always someone worse off than you

Try and get into a mental routine too, that when you think about what could of happend you sort of tell yourself off and start thinking about whats going to happen, dont let it make your mind weak. Youre obviously quite strong physically to only have the injuries you got, now dont let this experience be better than you mantally

Heres a quote that hits it spot on with me and made my mind tougher, hope it will help you a little and help you through this

the world aint all sun shine and rainbows, its a very mean and nasty place, and no matter how tough you are it will beat you down to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me..nobody is going to hit as hard as life, but it aint about how hard you hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward

Well that made me feel better and i haven't even had an accident :-D

^Walshc speakith a lot of sense

I posted on your Mk1 purchase not realising about this thread so once again I wish you well :)

That was some good luck to have pretty much walked away from it.. glad your ok!

fook me, your seriously lucky, dont dwell on what happend as long as your fine.

that made me shudder, hope you get well soon,

youre very brave! :)

i'll be the first

"that'll T-Cut out"
