I don't mind others prefering visual form over function - we all like different things. As I said, I've always been in the minority so maybe its me thats wrong?!

I just can't get my lil ol' head around making things worse in every respect just to gain in this case the visual form?

It's special. and dangerous.

Camber isn't something to look fancy, its set at a certain angle so that the contact patch of the tyre is optimised thorughout the suspension travel.

At a guess Id say road going cars have low/nominal negative camber due to the nature of the roads, generally straight with a few sharp corners (junctions) at low speed, and motorway driving.

and also at a guess I would say it's on track cars that you see the higher amounts of negative camber due to the longer high speed corners that are more sweeping.

Though i agree that i hate it when people do things, discover it had some negative effects too, and then bitch and whine about it. I realise that running my car low may well risk my sump etc, but if i break things its my fault and i dare say i'll just laugh and fix them.

i agree with that totally, but come to milton keynes (loads of roundabouts) and you wouldnt say no to a bit of camber.

Hmmmmm... not into crazy camber on road going cars to be honest. Especially home brew DIY jobs. Function over fashion for me when it comes to suspension with me i'm afraid. Why spend time and effort making a car worse than it was before??

If you like it then thats fine with me though. Does look better since you have reduced the camber a touch :-)

Skatty if you start doing DIY camber crap and smoothing on your mk3 i am not talking to you anymore. Leave it as it is now and get the fucker running :-) Also you will have no trouble with the sump old pal. Your car is low but not that low

Sometimes this forum really gets me. I know I'm old and senile, but the amount of people asking the same old questions and trying to fit really wide wheels with silly low offsets and stupidly low suspension really gets on my tits! :mad: Fucking day in day out the same old questions come up with people trying all sorts of different methods of getting the "wrong" wheels and tyres to fit on a car clearly not designed to have them.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be running around on 145/80's on skinny rims and sky high suspension, but lets be sensible here.

Its like "they" are watching you all the time and then someone like does something and then like "they" act and eliminate you and all history ........ speak only to those you know and trust and then only in code ..... he took it off. tbh i didnt even notice any difference when i saw it on sunday @ RTTS, that white one had some interesting ideas though and seemed to pull it off well. looked good on the d90's aswell!!

Breadman ........ I know you never said it ........... what I said was .....don't even think about saying it. (don't get paranoid) because the new govenment scanning of the internet, email, phones and text was extended to wifi connections and that allows them to access your thoughts while in a wifi area. (thats why they are supporting the big multinational telecoms companies in installing wifi in our homes) I believe the moderators on here have been given govenment access to car related thoughts and maybe reporting stuff to the suit's. All for the greater good so i'm told.

u will all be happy to no there is only a very small amount of camber on the rear just cos i wanted to.
