^^^ Not to go off course but are you the fella i spoke to at no rice?

Not sure mate spoke to a lot of people at last no rice

POLOMON your probably right about the sequential box would make it a lot easier when your going crazy speeds sideways as getting the wrong gear would probably screw it up quite badly

 just a wild guess but ye probably is, if that had a decent zorst a matte coloured respray a nrew front bumper and a tidied up interior i wd really really like that! if i had the cash i wd even go to the extent of coping it!

id rather have ''jap crap'' than most other cars! they are very reliable and preety easy to get parts for with reguards to tuning...

I'm guessing it either is a auto or its a sequential change box... liek what motorbikes have i think thats what there called :? always wanted a box like that in ma mini

we won't be seeing you at no rice then! haha!

fair enough the engines are pretty damn good and on the whole hard to fault, their wiring looms, tin shells and joke plastic interiors leave alot to be desired tho! hence why i continue to buy and drive vw's although quality has dropped off since being produced in spain, they are generally well designed cars and are mainy diy freindly, unlike say a lexus (toyota) which requires a tool only sold by them to change the brake pads for only £600!

vw are a damn sight cheaper for replacement parts and insurance purposes generally.

i'm not dissin anyone but in my eyes vw are all round better quality....

oh i doubt you'd be drifting that well in an auto although it is possible, usually just extended lever with a 'gay' knob! would like to think it could be a sequential box, i've always wanted one but i doubt it.

It's shittingly good

haha ye cant argue with that! vw's really are better :p but i wd be abit biest (sp) lol and wow that tool seems madly priced! i think i would make my own lol or swop the whole brakes!

and as for the no rice comment, naa i wont me there :( still cant drive  oh well if polo show was a month later i could of been going to that :(

The thing is, making a car look shit is hard work. Like so its shit, but good. Not barry wing shit.

It looks shit

aint that the truth. i hate rat look especially if its manufactured rat look. fair enough if your cars been in a field going green for the the past 5 years, but to purposely make something look shite seems a slightly odd thing to do.

It looks shit

I think that's the point though

loks like some crap drifter just stacked it into a ditch?

theres a reason why people ont want there cars to look like that, it looks gash as fook!

Might have to piss on a few chips here, but there's no way that car is designed with drifting in mind. Maybe the intention of getting a wiggle out of the rear end under power, but that's it!

The suspension setup is anything but drift, and as for the auto/sequential, neither would be prefered over manual as you lose the ability to shift lock etc!

As far as i can tell, this car has been built for looks in mind and not much else......

RANT OVER.....still thinks it looks cool as fook!

:D

looks ACE!!!

Seen it on a few forums.. the look just seems to suit it too well.

To everyone who thinks it looks shyt... thats kinda the idea ;) That shit it looks cool 8-)

looks mean as hell

looks like something out of terminator

pile of shit.

it looks ace [/thread]

Definate candidate for an extra in a Mad Max re-make.

I hate the word Rat, Prefer to use words like distressed, worn in,patina or just simply "it has character"

I wouldn't call Jimmy Shine's bare metal ford Pickup a Rat, it's just an amazing Hot Rod..

Why do people always assume that the VW scene did it first?

And why is anything that hasn't seen polish in a while considered rat look?

I never once said it was started in the VW scene, chances are it was probably started over in America with Hot Rods but the early beetles are what i best know it for.

This 200sx needs more than a polish to bring it back to concours, but once again when did anyone mention what is and what isnt rat look. This thread was clearly started as just a "cool car thread" not the whole scene in general.

I do love the Anti Rat Look people,so defensive and not open to suggestion.

Any who this has turned into a good topic and its good to see mixed views as isnt that what the whole car scene in general is about

I like it, provided that it's silly fast. I think it has to to be able to pull that look off tbh

cant stand it how people paint cars matt black on steels and its slightly even considered ratty its not, its shite!

i do like that. they havnt trashed it on purpose. its obviously been pushed hard and cheap repairs for the looks as well! would love to drive it
