German pressed plates on a non-german car...

Featured Replies

To be honest does it really matter at all, the picture isn't clear enough to see if the band on the end is the GB one or a different one (doesn't have to be German FFS  ) but i'm sure the owner isn't as much of a numpty to actually buy the plates with a band that doesn't display it as British as were in Britain duh! But pressed plates aren't just used in Germany so correct me if i'm wrong but dont older registered vehicles have pressed plates ummm now think about that one for everyone that says the plates look shit because the car isn't bloody German

Seen plenty of non German cars with these plates. As long as it hasn't got the 'D' band its ok i guess. Its just the font at the end of the day

Mmmmmm chicken :-) if my paint comes in time i`ll be spraying nanna loon over the weekend, so i`ll call round monday night 8-)

Spain and France etc have banded pressed plates on their cars too though, you just cant get those exact fonts.

I agree though, they've ran their course.

was it a green 75 saloon by any chance? I've seen one round my way with pressed german font, no bands on it.

And it hasn't been mentioned that they are infact....

...ILLEGAL.

i see a new shape ford fiesta with german pressed plates with souf edition stickers on it

  • 9 months later...

lmao!

fords are made in germany

saw a rover 25 or MG ZR earlier with german font pressed plates parked up.... i really don't understand why the fuck they feel the need to get german plates for it!

Pointless scene-cessory for modded cars. But, compared to a Saxo with German plates it's a bit more acceptable. At least the Germans have owned Rover.

I've seen a Mondeo with Iron Cross stickers and German plates

Built in Germany, so IMHO more suited than a Spanish-built Polo. But that is fucking gaaaaayyy.

Could say the same about Spanish cars with them on.

So, so true.

German plates... Venoms of the VW world.

TBH, the VW-inspired look is the new chavtastic style. Sorry to disappoint you all, but 'slammed on dished wheels' is seriously played out. As is rat look. These days I see more satin black shitters with wide wheels than I do rusty Novas with Kingdom bumpers. Most of them get the offset wrong too. It just looks shit.

I blame Max Power...It'll be ATS classics next

Oi! I have vinyl plates, I'll have you know.

My mate Jamie owns that? well its the onlt one i know off!

And IMO his gone down the Euro look road, and i think it pulls if off nicely.

I personally think un-banded pressed look good its only when they get the "D" on a none vag car then they become gay

lmao!

Phantom bump :paranoid:

this thread is worthless

early polos arnt german

there made in spain so why put german plates on them?

AREEEEEEBA AREEEEEBA

I was ready to blame hoppy for this thread bump!!

we need to stop bumping this thread.

.....oh crap

I've seen a Mondeo with Iron Cross stickers and German plates

iron cross was nicked by the aircooled VW boys from the yank rodder boys... so although it's a german motife... yanks used it first  looks cool on most cars 8-)

i saw it

i though id join in

cause I'm nice :)

and it doesnt make sence tbh

so if i had a british car and i lived in germany would i have to run british plates?

NO!

reg plates are reg plates so stop crying over them muhahahahaha

Pressed plates are the latest chav accessories.

hear hear!

i know what other people mean by saying it's their car, do what they want etc. but the MGis a british car, has no German heritage from what I am aware of, something i just don't understand!

well apart from being owned for a short time by german company BMW!

BMW didnt own it, they RAPED it.

I think it comes down to where the manufacturer is from, not where that specific model is built.

Polo's built in Spain, Mondeo built in germany.. but Volkswagen is German, and Ford is American, to be fair that's more important.

Either way, this thread is exhausted.

the thing is

reg plates mainly tell the vehicle identification and WHERE THE CAR IS FROM NOT WHERE THE BASTARDING CAR IS MADE

stress or what

delete this thread cause it pointless and crap

I like pressed metal plates, they look cleaner than the shitty plastic ones. Mine are UK font with a GB band, which makes more sense.
