'Oil inspection' light on 6n2 1.0e

The car was serviced 6months ago and covered 1000miles. Yesterday the 'oil inspection' light came up on the dash. The oil is clean and the correct amount is in the engine.

2 questions really:

Why has it come on?

How do i get rid of it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
