Polished and ready for BVF

Featured Replies

Looks to be in stunning condition. I'd love to see some interior and under bonnet shots.

Congratualtions on all your hard work, lets hope the judges send the trophies your way!

Nice one mate,

Cheers,

Richard.

Aww, thanks for all the great comments  The engine bay and interior aren't anything special, just clean & tidy. The interior is currently polo GT front and rear seats, but once i've saved a bit cash i'll be having the seats done in cream leather. I'll post a few more pics up from BVF. Plus i'll be doing the polo show this year, assuming i've not broken it!

thats pimping mate, absolutely spot on

Thats just perfection right there!

Wow, how many posts in just a few hours?!

I'm sure the judges will appreciate all your hard work, 5 years! It was a long time coming but it is all worth it now 8-)

Yea, I'm shocked at the amount of interest in the MK1 here, there's more old skoolers than i expected! Not expecting anything in the way of awards at BVF, there's people out there with chromed engines, etc. Can't even hope to compete with that sort of thing. Just a bit of fun really.

...and on the 8th day God made this car!

I love it, the front 1/4 shot (last photo) is so lush! Nice choice of colour, very understated but nice. Great work...5 years too...jeepers.

is this the one that was being built in a garage at the side of the house (shit description i know), think there was a vid of it being driven around the block stripped to fuck?

if so that is a stunning out come (well its mint whether it is or isn't, but if it is that one i remember seeing the thread and its come so far!)

well done mate 8-)

Yep, it's the same one, you've got a good memory! It was me driving it round the block after fitting the engine! Thanks for the kind comments.

Of course you can compete against them, your car is so rare and beautiful, the judges should appreciate that your car wasn't an open chequebook car and has been restored so well. I think you stand a good chance

Spot on, love it.

Absolutely stunning.

 Such a nice and gleaming car, top job :thumbsup:8-)

It is stunning and respect for all the work you've done and having a less is more approach to modifying what is an absolute classic. You have won already in my book.

I want a derby!!!

Between yours and Lovejoys just makes me want one more n more!

derby's rule

Congrats on the win, knew you could do it :-D

And was nice to meet you finally

Was a pleasure to finally meet the guy behind the username! lol.

As I said, the car looks amazing. Done a proper dapper job of it.

How did you do in the show and shine then?

@ Kam & Rach, great to meet you both too - good to put faces to the many names on here. A small trinket come home with us, we won the "other watercooled" class. Still can't believe it, really pleased with that. Apparently we dropped 5 points overall, which isn't bad.

That's bloody good, big well done! You deserve it after all the hard work you put in

Cheers Rach, I think the owner resto went down well with the judges. No chequebook resto for this one :unibrow:
