irn bru!

brilliant build so far mate!

irn bru ftmfw =D danke

sorry for the tread jack but how much for the VDO gauge? is it a pressure or temp as you say '150 degree pressure' doe it come with sender?

any time max, tenner for the guage, needs a tidy up around the metal face, comes with holder, bulb but not the nuts to secure the holder.

no sender I'm afraid, unless you can use a water temp sender, if so I'm sure i can find you one.

edit :- it is a temp guage btw

Epic, epic build! Keep at it mate!

cheers mr munkeh!

DSC03403.jpg

DSC03402.jpg

DSC03408.jpg

its a bit toight like

DSC03411.jpg

gotta butcher together a gearlinkage, and rob the rear gearbox mount off the mk3, change the fluids, connect driveshafts and get some tyres, and we should be alot more complete, but happy days. i was smiling like a cheshire cat when we rolled it out int daylight, i <3 lamp but i <3 the mk1 a lil bit more (just dont tell lamp!)

haha great sucsess ! ................................................................................

pause

naaaaaaat

harnesses are now fully mounted happy days!

starter motor fitted

found a few gear linkages in the unit so retrofitted all that linkage, just waiting on a new shift finger in the post and i can get the gear linkage up.

found the driveshafts i need, just need to replace a couple of cv boots, some fresh grease and they are good to be connected. if the adapted lupo shafts are too long, ill use the polo ones, as the different cvs have the same spline on the driveshafts, id prefer to use the lupo ones as they are near 3-4 times wider in diameter than std mk1-3 shafts.

fitted the bonnet and adjusted so it sits nicely and latches properly.

just niggly bits left now, my biggest pain is going to be getting the headlights rocking, once they are done I'm on the home straight, hopefully the manis should be ready in the group buy soon,

anyway only a couple of pics today as i was covered in gear linkage putty stuff and cv grease, laaarvly

DSC03417.jpg

DSC03416.jpg

am i right in thinking there is a plastic clip that stops the bonnet lever marking the paint as it goes down, or was that omitted in favour of just holding it forward as you close the bonnet, so it clears the slam panel

great sucsess ! looking gd it looks almost complete !
