yup,

tomo is the last day at the unit, so the cars being collected tomorrow now that its finally on four wheels and rolling again!

gave her, her first wash in two years =]

things left to do :-

change outer cv boots

refit driveshafts

get and fit shift cage

get inlet mani and fit

fit carbs, fuel pump and lines to car (fitted return lines on saturday)

fit washer bottle and pump

get and fit starter motor

tighten handbrake cable

top up engine oil

replace gearbox oil

work out why fackin headlights arent working

and then das mot time =]

it looks a beast with MY WHEELS ON

haha legend! the wheels only just cover the brakes!

need to get some tyres sorted for the starlites first, might paint them white this week

What size are the starlites? Bet you can wait to get it moving under its own power :)

Is it gonna keep the rusty bonnet?

14x7 et40 so will need small spacers to clear the suspension legs and brake hoses.

aye cannot wait fella, and ill chop and change between the bonnets, theres a satin black one in the boot that was the original silver bonnet on the car. its just unwashed and didnt have the latch on it, so i stuck the rusty one on for the time being

cant get away with official black on silver, as the car has to be pre 1973 and i cant be bothered with hassle from das po

I've painted plenty of sets of wheels, and a car.

i just lack the motiviation, but the oz's looked so good in white and these would do. its cleaning that i cant be arsed wi!

Can i bob up soon, need a to do some "fixing" to the GT, headgasket and rear wheel bearing both need tightening, will bring some dosh to pay for your precious time

and we can have a good little natter, done some untastfull mods to the GT that you probably wont like

nowt much, doing bits and pieces when i can but concentrating on the house this month, got a fair bit of work to do on the walls, getting a new bathroom and recarpeting. mission.com and trying to save dollar for the european road trip.

lights now working, fuel lines and bonnet release fitted. handbrake tightened up and tres effective and some new wheels and tyres fitted.

uhmming and aaahing over whether to go to polo show, or spend the time getting the mk1 ready and hopefully mot'd for tatton park

What size steels are those in the last pic? I'm thinking of putting gti brakes on my mk3 and i need some wheels to clear them :p

14x6, youll need 14s to clear the brakes, they will be up for sale next week as I'm picking up some contis for the lupo starlites.

btw you cant fit the 256mm brakes from a gti without adaptors, or carriers from a very select few audis and roccos. you can fit vauxhall 256mm brakes easily, see the brakes FAQ section for detailed posts by myself and links to full guides.
