Same here! Pain in the arse having to get everything out the boot just to get at the spare.

I never used to run a spare in my 1st car (1.0 bready) and found that sometimes there was a distinct lack of rear end grip! Awesome fun in the wet!

i carry 2 cans of tyreweld instead of spacesaver.

il be damned if ima rip alll my install out on the side of the road and waste time faffing about changing it.

space savers go 50 miles then have to be replaced, id rather tyre weld,save hastle, and if so, replace the tyre.

also, id hate to drive on a spacesaver, look like a dick.

as said above, not all cars come with spares. e.g lupo.

and if i get a blowout, sod it, call a mate/family to bring a wheel etc. or breakdown to tow you to a tyre place.

best way imo

Though if your tyre goes totally to bits or gets slashed, there's nothing a can of tyreweld can do about it.

Likewise, if it's a plain puncture that could be plugged, a lot of tyre places won't do it if the tyre's full of foam.

It's not that they won't do it, it's that a lot of the tyre welds mean that it's not possible for them to repair the tyre, resulting in you having to buy a new tyre. I'd still use it though, the size tyres we generally run on Polo's means that they're not stupidly expensive really

Depends how much you use your car.

If you spend most of your time near home and have friends who would come help in the event of a blow out then go for it.

if you regularly travel up and down the motorway then I'd say no.

Don't do it. I got stuck by the side of the road in my Mk 5 Golf because of this. Got a sidewall puncture that was too big for the foam to repair.. Running stretch isn't always that funny :(
