I've done the Birmingham route on the night driving site a few times, but the last time I properly went for a drive was over a month ago - I took the van out for a slow cruise (and anyone whose ever driven an aircooled knows what I mean by slooooow ) It is so restful and stress-relieving.

I go on random drives about twice a week

I like to just escape, leave my phone at home so no one can bother me and be gone for a few hours or even a couple days

Last Friday, was out on my own for about 3 hours just driving random roads

the last proper drive i had in my polo wrote it off. counrty lanes too fast in the wet..... :sad: my mk3 polo was the most fun I've ever had.

Properly? Tuesday. Though i went a fair few miles on a random one on friday.

I rarely drive from A to B without going the long way,but I've toured the british isles to almost complete coverage over the last 17 years with my 'Vanishing Point' drives.

Friends questioned it once,when driving home after a 12 hour shift,i drove straight past my house,and carried on driving for a further 14 hours.

A year last may,i drove the bike-carbed 1.6 tornado 970 miles to Aberdeen and back,just to hand deliver a birthday card. Its literally any excuse.

Last time I went for just a drive I've forgotten, seriously low on money and have been for a while, just can't afford it at the moment :(

Once I've got money it'll be good to just drive, instead of having to get somewhere by a certain time!!

You don't know what you're missing, particularly in the early hours of the morning when there's no one but you and the wagons on the road.

Better still if you take a few mates, playing the slots in the services at 4am whilst trying to work out where the hell you are and how you get home is what it's all about.

Last time I went on 1 was just after my 18th in Feb.

Went from Gt Yarmouth, up the Norfolk coast (all back roads) to Kings Lynn then down to Swaffham, Downham Market then it got to 5am and realised I was tired so went to Newmarket to re-fuel myself and then travelled on to Felixstowe and up the A12 back to Yarmouth :)

Slept for the next day but boy, was it worth it

decided to go for a drive to clear me head started from spalding (lincs) at about 10pm ended up for some reason in harlow then went to cromer (norfolk)got there about 3am had a kip in me car then back to spalding got back at 9am used about £23 in diesel was a nice relaxing drive. love me golfgttdi would love me m8s g40 (vwmk3jon) but i dont fit in it very well .
