when i lived in southampton id go out for drives every night in my Mk3 Golf 1.8

haven't been able to since moving up here as i just dont have the time anymore :(

nearly everyday for me lol, never go far but I'm always out and about somewhere.

reading this topic is making me want to hit the hills of rivvington... before the new coilovers come.. a late night meet would be so cool as someone suggested earlier...

Had one tonight, out a pub in the middle of nowhere, pitch black, driving back on my own through twisty country roads, no music, was awesome

Unfortunately I never seem to drive my car more than 20 miles away from home. Hopefully now the weather is getting better I can go out on more day trips. Its always better when you go with a few other cars though, makes things more fun. I'd like to go on a hoon to Wales someday soon. I've heard it has some fantastic roads... :)

We were supposed to be going fora drive up to Scotland dude so feel free to tag along .. There are some superb roads up there .. Perfect for testing your new brakes

I drive 30,000 miles a year & tbh I am fed up with driving, although @ heart I really love to drive.

I have bought myself cars that re-kindle the real spirit of driving, no power steering, harsh suspension & I love it!!!!

Until my latest love is back on the road I have to put up with modern cars for my kicks.

Last completley wasteful trip was last week.......................loved it..........................will be back out again soon!!

Yesterday!

I'm just back from holiday where I've been driving a 1.4 Seat cordoba!

I'd got serious withdrawal symptoms and couldn't wait to get back in the G. So yesterday evening I gave her a wash, warmed her up and set out to find a good bit of road.

I struck it lucky when I took a road I've never been down. There are precious few roads you can open up on around me, but last night I found some.

For those of a Hud's/Leeds persuasion (I know there are alot of us), I took the road to Thornhill from the Ravensthorpe ring road and continued down to the outdoor shop on the T junction with the A642, turned back and went along thornhill edge and through Whitley, coming out at the Woolpack pub. I've never driven any of those roads before and was (sort of) lost until I saw the Woolpack.

And the weather was real nice which brought out some bikers for me to suprise!

been doin a lot of drivin this week, actally done around 630 miles this week, a lot of it was lookin for a car for me bro mind, with a few shorter drives at night just for the sake of it, but i just love going for a drive, weather theres a reason or not, for me atm its petrol prices, can't really afford it, but sod it aye, you only live once.

going done to cornwall in a couple of weeks, that'll be fun

Driving in the dark down to dover and then the early hours of the morning in calais was a surreal feeling. Literally no-one on the streets in france - before this it had been so long, I'd almost forgotten what it's like to drive at night.

did nearly 120 miles today in my gti just for the hell of it, had the trip computer down to 9.5mpg at one point then after a short stop at a random pub all the way up to 42 lol its the variety i like

i think the last time i just drove was about 14 months ago, my sons were ill and had to staying hospital and the misses stayed with them, i'd just got my gt on the road and just randomly drove around for a while, as nice.

thats the last time i had the opportunity tbh, if i went out and drove off late at night i doubt i'd have anywhere to live when i came back, and theres no way the misses would believe me if i said i'd just been out of a drive till 3am

i could drive 120 miles in any direction from here and still not find any thing of any interest to go and visit just for the drive out, i wish i lived nearer the coast so i could drive out to the sea front for the day and shit, the midlands sucks pure ass

Whipped! I won't be doing it again for a while, it was quite a pricey venture today as I took the Audi. 25mpg average but it was reading as low as 9 in places... should tide me over for a couple of weeks till the next one.

i just got back from going for a pointless drive out into the lanes, on my journey i found a field full of sheep, Mallory park, Bosworth battle field, some alligator teeth ( ) and the quickest rover metro i've ever seen

glad i saw this thread now or i'd of just ended up sitting on here all afternoon, it was the most fun i've had in my car since the kids were born

haha parcel shelf + wooden box + bolts + the slide in out bit from a cheap tripod and the job is a good 'un

Gus appeared at Knockhill with a modified head rest...just the two legs and a bit of tripod welded on. Was dead impressed, looked really neat and must have given a good angle. If I could weld I'd do one like that...show us how you get one and I might pester you to make me one as well.
