  • If your after black headlights, look out for the In-pro's They are basically the original lights and retain the original refractors but have black back grounds I also have the HID's with them.....awe

Well I got back from holiday yesterday and my LED fogs had arrived so fitted them last night. Quite impressed with them. They are a little bit whiter than the HID's but match the sidelight LED perfect. Quite bright too. Now looks a lot better with all 6 white. Will get some better/night pics up soon.

Did another minor change. Was able to get hold of a Caddy interior mirror. So swapped it over with my 6N mirror. Looks a bit better. Shorter neck, better quality and slightly larger.

Well you'll be pleased to know i'm selling my CDA so back to normal at present.

Just had to sort out another common Polo fault, a new Brake light switch

its now just screamin to go lower

Also now sorted engine bay. No longer running a BMC CDA. Just using K&N panel filters.

  • 3 weeks later...

how come you decided yo go panel filter over the BMC mate?

any advice as I'm looking into getting a BMC ?

cheers.

oohh and what would you say was best seeing as you have experiance with both?

thanks agian.

Well my cold air run was pretty poor (over exhaust manifold) so decided on going back to filters. I did have 2 brand new K&N panels so was easy for me. Also bought a MTB so the money help go towards that. I'll give you pro's and con's of each,

Panel Filter:

Pros: easy to fit, uses standard air box and cold air feed (gonna be designed to be best way possible), cheap, keeps engine neat & quiet

Cons: quiet. Probably no gain maybe more efficient than standard filters

K&N induction:

Pros: easier to fit than BMC and cheaper. The best sound (if your after that sort of thing, I was), slight gain possible

Cons: No heat shield, not very heat friendly (even after two cold air feeds), doesnt look very good. Can spit oil everywhere!

BMC CDA:

Pros: Best looking (when cover is cut), reasonable sound, if a good cold air feed is run can be quite efficient and better gains than K&N

Cons: Expensive, needs lot of extras, I couldn't run a decent cold air feed (16v & GTi better).

If you own a 8V MPi I wouldnt go for BMC as it gives same results as a K&N. I ran cold air feed to far side, rear of bay, straight out of the front but none worked well. If you have a 16v i'd go for a BMC, then you can run the hose in the opposite direction.

If you want noise, go for K&N induction. If you want to improve just go for panel filters.

Hope this helps a bit. If anyone else wants to add (or disagree) please do.

thanks mate you could say u just saved me 120 notes ahaha.

think I'm gunna go for the panel filter then =)

No probs mate
