No more German Plates

Featured Replies

I got pulled last night because of my plates by the worlds most twatish copper...He said just cus its a volkswagen doesnt mean I'm allowed german plates before reffering to the stickers as bullshit, the 0 not being a complete 0 as bollocks and then made me change them in a lay-by on the dual carrige way.

apart from that i think they look tidy...

The 'twatish' copper was correct, though. :retard:

  • 2 weeks later...

it only mentions about scotland and northern ireland in the press release though, and it only says about the people selling the plates doesnt mention about people that have already bought plates and use them every day,

^^ Who have always been breaking the law, and now the people selling the plates are getting screwed over too.

great, more chav tat off of vws :)

I got a set of completely legal pressed UK plates through Dubmeister and I think they look much cleaner (as in, less cluttered than German plates), also with the obvious upside of not breaking the law. Never had the urge to get german plates because, well, I'm not from germany.

But you have a German car!!!

Lol, i know what you mean though, has yours got the green show plates?

I got stopped for mine on the way down to edition. So while there I got some pressed, unbanded uk font. Not only do they look alot cleaner and less cluttered but no more 30 quid fines. Well heres hoping

when this law comes in think of all the plate pressing machine up for sale on ebay I'm gonna get one and sell them and if i do what homer did no1 will know its me...

buy the machine _ make the plates_ them give the plates away (cough cough) or say trade them for jellybabys :unibrow:

it only say you are not to sell them right, so if the plates are free to a good home but the postage and the cardboard is (say) 15pounds... id pay 15pounds for a nice bit of brown cardboard with a free show plate

s'all about american style plates 8-)

^^ Yep.

I'll have fully legals for teh road,

And all black pressed bike font ones for show.

I want C 3URO reg though :D

Why have plates with a "D" on them? (I assume that's what some are saying) Why have a German font? We're in the UK - no wonder people are getting fined!

IMHO "traitorplates" are bad enough - but to spend a load of money replacing a decent normal plate by putting a "D" on new plates and then paying some more money to put up with the fines? What gives?

The people who sell these plates should really be fined (as in 'attack the dealer' method).

If anyone is interested - there are plates out there that have a UK flag to the left (in the 'band') minus the 12 unpopular stars - these look the part and they really avoid the unfortunate "chav" look that (esp pre-'50' reg) plates have with the "uniform wearing" eu plates have.

Just my two pence worth (or two euros worth, if you really like!)

thers a guy round here ( south west wales) with a blue r32 golf mk 5 one with german plates on hes had dem on for ages now and not been stoped :? i thought they wer legal cuz i was going to get some for my beetle lol
