Car is looking mint! Steering wheel really looks the part, where did you get it? I'm after something similar :)

A couple of buckets in there and this will be perfect ;)

  • Author

Wheel was just off eBay, one seat should be on it's way now. :ninga: be here this week perhaps.......

Just gets better and better! Am I right in saying it's no a wheel clearance issue but a wheel balancing weight issue haha? Should see the leon cupra that comes to our local meet if it has a mil clearance between wheel and caliper i'd be supprised!

After seeing your steering wheel I've gon and got a 320mm one! Ended up costing me £26 after I sold the mk1 golf boss it came with and it's absolutely mint condition! Haha just waiting for my mk3 golf boss to arrive!

Would you say a 320 is smaller that standard as I haven't offered it up yet?

  • Author

My new one's 320 and it's definatly smaller, iirc the standard wheel is around 370

With the dish etc. is it tricky reaching the indies etc? Always loved dished wheels, just never thought itd work in a polo due to sticking out abit too much etc.

Also, what bucket might it be? :ninja:

I think Il have to get a thread of mine up soon, alot of progress being made recently, including a coupla buckets :)

Hoping to get a few things to the powdercoaters soon so more stuff to come.

looking good man :) what colour were your wheels again? 350z orange?

  • Author

They're darker than the 350z orange, they're actually a deep shade of bronze but in the dark look brown, definatly look best in the sun or when clean lol, Cheers mate.

Really want to get some Schroth harnesses but they're ridiculously expensive :(

I have a pair of recaro trendline's and some securon harnesses for mine :)

So it's not an actual colour then?

  • Author

No it's not a factory colour, got it from a bunch of swatches i was looking at.

Sweet when are you putting them in?

Fitted my Schroth asm 4 point harness

love schroths i got a set. wer you bolted them to?

  • Author

The rear seatbelt mounting points with having no rear seats.

hmm i might have to try that. i thought i was told you had to have them a certain height and basicaly said it was too low. thts why people attach them to the top bolting points or strut braces.

Ideally your meant to have a harness bar of some sort, and yes you hear about them having to be at certain angles, crushing collar bones etc..... but plenty of people do it this way. I'm hoping to get a harness bar at some stage if not a cage so it's only temp.

sweet sounds good then. ill have a look at it at the weekend.

Right so I made a list back in march of things that I wanted to do to the car by this time. I've crossed the things I've done.

. Brakes,

:Get 16v brake upgrade done (have everything for it Inc brembo discs, tarox pads and braided hoses just need to get it done, should be over Easter)

:I've got new wishbones with powerlex bushes and 16v arb with bonrath bushes.

. Next will be interior,

:Pretty much have my eyes on a set of recaro furious buckets (same as pole positions but not FIA approved) would love some Bride Zeta 111's but at over 500 each I don't think that's happening,

:Strip the rears out and have carpeted false floor,

:Rear strut brace with perhaps a show cage, but that's not a defo,

:Next would be a flocked dash and also considering flocked doorcards but we'll see,

:300 wheel either a team or sparco motorsport one.

Interior wise I think that's all for the moment.

. Next will be exterior, probably leaving this till last as I want it to be as fresh as possible as that makes sense,

:No full respray just get rid of small rust spots and chips,

:16v rear bumper

:Smooth front plate recess,

:Respray front wings and maybe if one comes up a jap spec boot,

:Next will be full tint on rear and rear quarter windows (jdm style).

Finally a good polish.

.Engine

:It'll be staying the same, maybe just a spruce up, if any conversion does happen it won't be till end of this year/next year.

I guess I haven't done ally of what was on the list  although I've decided against some of the things that were on it, don't want the tints anymore, not having a false floor anymore, i also have decided against the show cage would really prefer a proper one, don't want to smooth the front plate recess anymore, although I do have some plans for the bumper :ninga: hoping to get the interior finished first, getting the dash done is first I think.

Looking well! Not a fan of them interiors usually but this looks ace!

nice car mate, coming along nicly!

I've got white mk4 aswel :) get them nasty grey seats out haha i picked up some mk3 golf gti seats for mine for £40 bargin!

did the mk3 seats fit straight in???

flocked interior FTW, i got mine down a while ago :) haven't seen inperson another 6n with it done, or even a pic tbh.
