Does look good, hoping to pick up a spare dash and door cards soon and take them down to flockit in St Helens

how much was it all in if you dont mind me asking? I have no idea how much flocking costs

  • Author

think your looking at around a ton for the dash snd not much less for the cards, also depends where you go and what colour etc.....

So i haven't done anything to the car in ages, I've just been using it to get around. I kind of got bored with it over the winter consequently the bodyworks starting to look tatty, rust has started to settle in the usual places as i didnt clean it for like 4 months during the winter

Anyway I'm starting to get back into it again, i haven't actually done anything yet but hoping to get the bodywork sorted soon and i have a few plans also

I did pick this bumper up yesterday from Tez, today i started to sand it down ready for primer then paint the bumpers actually originally green but got sprayed yellow then satin black so I'm sanding through the layers. Got to say sanding is tedious especially doing it by hand

Yellow paint everywhere

Got it all rubbed down now, just got to fill a small hole and go over it again in a finer grade And it'll be ready for primer. Hopefully it'll be ready for paint by tomorrow night.

Looking good glad your back on with it!

  • Author

Yea same here dude, cheers.

whats the diffrence in bore size top the origional coz that looks massive

  • Author

Not too sure what the original is but that's a 3''

A normal 16v system is 50mm so that's just over 2''

Well after about another 3 months of 'I can't be bothered with this anymore' I've decided to do stuff again, I've fitted the rear bumper due to being moaned at with it being in the garden  and DO plan on fitting the exhaust when I can be arsed due to being moaned at with it being in the shed, also got some 6n2 roof rails that need painting and putting on, yes you guessed it because I was getting moaned at With those also being in the shed

In the mean time I've decided to start on the front bumper after being moaned at again with it being in the garden  how do you think this would look? the bottom vents will be smoothed in and the other top grill will also be finished obviously

Well made a start on the bumper today plastic welded the top hole and the bottom intake, fiberglassed it and finally a layer of filler went on. Going to sand it down tomorrow maybe.

Initial rub down, going to get another light skim ontop to fill light imperfections then a final rub down, and finish the other side. Ill update from now on when it's finished.

Are you fitting fogs?

Looks good though dude :)

  • Author

Cheers dude, no they're intake grills so I don't think fogs will fit unless they just happen to be the same size as the hole If they are I might try it. Thanks.

I know that I said I wouldn't update till I finished but whatever  I've just added the final skim of filler and rubbed it down and finished it using wet and dry now it's finished. I tried to use as less filler as possible and I think I did a pretty good job tbh, quite pleased :-D

So I've been going through the 'cant be arsed phase' again recently.

But went to pick up some wheels today, they're a german made brand called AFT, dare I say it rare.
