It was on the road outside of the uni building. I did (finished now forever) :) study in the adelphi building.

It's down the road from the main campus.

ah yeah my mates always at adelphi building. Ye i do but I'm in maxwell majority of the time so I'm one of the suckers that pays the £300 parking permit for the year. Come to think about it, i remember seeing a white 6n drive passed me as i was crossing the road so more than likely you.

Ah ok cool. I'm hating mine atm lol. We pay £2 to park on a bit of land that used to be where a building was. So now it's just literally rubble, pot hole central haha.

always thought about parking over there with it being a bit cheaper but I'm that lazy id rather pay the extra money haha you managed to source some replacement parts?

Lol, some interior parts but not fitted them haven't sourced a door yet can't be arsed with it atm lol

It is, just a door. Will eventually get it done. Kinda wanna sell and move on anyway.

It is ridiculous, its either that or £4 a day but with the one off payment you can get money back depending on when you cancel so i got £80 back when i cancelled, still bloody expensive though.

Haven't updated in a while but tbh there's not much to update :(

Fitted the new wheels which originally ran 10mm spacers all round which I've now changed to 10mm up front and 25mm on the rear.

Couple of photos of the rear, will post some more soon and hopefully make some more progress on it as I've suddenly got the urge to work on it again :)

Thanks dude it's the Gti splitter, I sold the borbets last year.

Decided to strip out the interior last week and give it a good clean inside. I gave the carpet a good shampoo, I forgot to take a photo of it after,

They're just the normal grills with the blank cut out. I do have another bumper which i'm smoothing with intake grills smoothed in. The wheels are an unknown to me German brand called ATF. They kinda look like a Borbet type wheel. You can see a couple of sets come up on German eBay from time to time.

Speaking of the bumper I decided to work abit more on it. I've sanded the filler on the other side and I now think that it's best to hand it over to a bodyshop to finish as sanding by hand is booooooring unless I decide to get an air sander which I probably won't, plus i had enough doing the rear bumper by hand.

thanks mate i haven't done anything with the double din yet, i took out the centre console the other day to see what needed taking out. As far as i can see the middle vent ducts need removing and chopping as the double din sits quite deep. Gonna have to strip most of the dash just gonna wait till the weather gets better, in no rush to do it anyway as i haven't got a unit to put in yet.

Tried on some 20mm spacers on the front the other day but I need to change the wheel bearings first as they are grinding as it is, and with 20mm spacers it makes it worse. I have them just need a weekend to strip it all down fit bearings, fit spacers, more lows and get the tracking adjusted.

Also gave it a long overdue service yesterday. In the next coming months I'm going to be sorting the bodywork out meaning new wings, new doors, finish bumper and a possible respray?

Will keep the updates coming as and when there are any.

Okay so boring update, the cars looking sorry for itself. Spent most of yesterday stripping down the front suspension/steering as the wheel bearings need doing

Was a right pisstake the track rod ball joint was unmovable, big lump hammer and about 30 blows it eventually seperated and that's both sides too. The bottom ball joints I couldn't be bothered with so left them on the hub and just seperated them from the wishbone. I'm replacing all ball joints and track rods and also putting a new cv joint on the left side. Thank god for the 25% discount we get from ECP saved £25 on parts :)

Also replacing the exhuastmanifold gasket as its been blowing for a while, i was dreading that the nuts would be seized but surprisingly had it easy, perhaps a little too easy though. One of the nuts I undid by hand without it even seeing a ratchet or spanner

The side that the nut came loose a little too easily, you can see the gasket is deteriorating

Lastly perfect time to wind the fronts all the way down

Should have it all back together tomorow/Thursday then it's to sort the bodywork.

So the cars back together and on the road :)

I decided to remove and clean my steering wheel, over the time I've used it its had greasy hands on it and I tend to work on my car, get all dirty and oily then test drive it without washing my hands. got to the point where it sometimes slips in your hand.

It started to look flat and shiny in places particularly at the 10-2 position. Anyway gave it a good soak in hot water and washing up liquid for 30mins and then a brush with a nylon brush. Worked wonders and looks 10x better.

Gave it once over in black too
