Well i haven't updated in a while, just trying to get my car ready for tatton park in august. Well my cars bodywork was looking worse for ware especially my doors and wings so i decided to replace them :-D Luckily 'Mancmike' was breaking his as he lives quite close so i got both doors and wings for £50, only problem though, they were in flash red

would have just resprayed my own ones but as you can see they were beyond repairable i think

so i took my the red doors and wings to my dads mate who sprays cars as a hobby and left them at his for about 5 weeks to do them in his spare time.

have just been to pick them up this afternoon

along with all the other bits :-( glass and all the other mechanisms

i placed one of the doors against my car and noticed that the newly sprayed ones are abit brighter than the rest of the car so i'm going to take my car to his and he's going to spray the rest of the car too, so i'm going to have a total exterior respray, yay :-D more updates to come this summer,

i hope :-)

Looks like a really good finish! Surprised you didn't get that sorted before buying wheels and coilies tbh,

white car+rust = uber fail

Have you tried getting the whole car machine polished to match the new?

Cheers mate, Nah only got them back today so i might try that next week or so, but i might aswell get the rest of the car sprayed as it'll look better, the bumpers have stone chips and the boot has been touched up in places anyway so i might aswell just get the whole car done, thinkg of getting my roof done black too

:?

Well got bored on friday and decided to fit my newly sprayed wings, you can't really tell the colour difference but they are very slighty brighter than the rest of the car so going to t-cut the car and machine polish it so should match up perfectly after that.

Wings off

Now just got to fit the doors :disgust::lol:

Looks good mate, Rust on the doors is annoying

On my to do list lol

Tell me about it  it's all gone........................for now :-(

is it costing you anything for the spraying or is he doing it as a favour?? looks like a mint job

you can see the difference a little in that last pic but it might just be the light, definately get the respray done, though am not sure about the black roof...so tried and tested...how about a different colour or design??

  • Author

Yeah it's costing, mates rates 8-) dunno about the roof though hmmmmmmm  orange

I was planning on gloss black roof, splitter and mirrors plus the bases. Then colour code the borbets black centres White dish? Cos Polomon ordered me too  Everything black and White theme then orange interior, I've just woken up and all these ideas are flooding into my head

looking nice mate!!! I seriously need some spraying done, wish i had a mate that would do it in his spare time!! lol

white 6n just attract rust I'm sure, i need two new doors and a wing as well as a bit of sill work! and a good respray as it has turned matt/satin white! lol

I v also got a fat gash down the side of mine which needs pulling and filling but your car has given me some inspiration to get it done!!

do you know the exact colour for the white is there a special name like alpine white of something? i know it alpine white with MK2 golf cuz i had one! lol but dont know if its the smae with the polo?

anyway ill say it again very nice white 6n! your making me jealous!!!!!

2 people help, my brother helped me do the headliner, it's pretty easy as it's flat but around the edges can be quite awkward because there's bits where it has curves but apart from that it all good. When you do it just lay it out on the floor then cut the material to the right size leaving about a 10cm margin so you can fold the material onto the other side, do one half at a time, thats what i did so the glue doesn't dry before you get to stick it down. Make sure you use high temp glue too, thinks thats all.
