Cheers Tez,

the mirrors are straight fit, yes they are electric, I followed the guide for the wiring in the faqs thing is though my wires didn't matchthe colours in the guide so I had to guess alot of it, trial and error really. Although some were easy like White-White etc........

Thanks saf, thinking about the mirrors, I do think that I need other suff to match.

cheers =] both of my wing mirrors are broken atm, so i might have to get some mk5 ones :D

CC your door handles as well? i reckon it would tie in nicely with your indys, the wheels + mirrors.

  • Author

Yeh the handles are a possiblity.

Well went to pick my wheels up today, they look mint but came out slightly lighter than id hope but theyll do. I reckon in the summer ill take them back down to darken them abit, but anyway heres the pics.

They're Dark Bronze.

Thanks dude :)

I always wanted to have them bronze, since the first time I thoght about it, its somthing abit different I think.

At first I wasn't sure whether they looked good but I definatly think I've made the right choice now. It's in the theme that I'm going towards anyway.

Gave the car a wash today and took some better pics after,

Also wound the front all the way down, well wound the adjuster till there was 1 thread left for the locking ring.

Right so I've been thinking of the direction of which I'm going with this polo, for a few months probably about 6-8 I decided to go down the motorsport/jdm style way.

After getting my wheels done I'm now set on this route so I've devised a plan/list of things which I'm going to do, hopefully they will all be done by end of July early aug, in time for VWNW (8th aug). The list will probably be in chronological order if not close to it.

So here goes,

. Brakes,

:Get 16v brake upgrade done (have everything for it Inc brembo discs, tarox pads and braided hoses just need to get it done, should be over Easter)

:I've got new wishbones with powerlex bushes and 16v arb with bonrath bushes.

. Next will be interior,

:Pretty much have my eyes on a set of recaro furious buckets (same as pole positions but not FIA approved) would love some Bride Zeta 111's but at over 500 each I don't think that's happening,

:Strip the rears out and have carpeted false floor,

:Rear strut brace with perhaps a show cage, but that's not a defo,

:Next would be a flocked dash and also considering flocked doorcards but we'll see,

:300 wheel either a team or sparco motorsport one.

Interior wise I think that's all for the moment.

. Next will be exterior, probably leaving this till last as I want it to be as fresh as possible as that makes sense,

:No full respray just get rid of small rust spots and chips,

:16v rear bumper

:Smooth front plate recess,

:Respray front wings and maybe if one comes up a jap spec boot,

:Next will be full tint on rear and rear quarter windows (jdm style).

Finally a good polish.

.Engine

:It'll be staying the same, maybe just a spruce up, if any conversion does happen it won't be till end of this year/next year.

So I've said hopefully all this will get done, but somthings bound to happen as it always does when you've got plans  pretty much just written all this out so I don't forget, also it's taken me ages as I'm doing it on my iPhone and I keep pressing the wrong letters  but enjoy.

Loving this dude, easily one of my favourite, if not the most favourite 6n to date.

I know someone asked already, but those visors..was there any prep involved? Primed? or just sprayed..?

Will definately be watching this, plans sound decent.

Rob.

Thanks dude, it's far from the best but if all goes to plan then perhaps by summer it'll be up there somewhere.

The visors I just sprayed straight on, no prep just masked the glass up as good as I could.

Much better than mine, trust me

Ah okay great, cheers for the help dude. May give mine a go tomorrow.

Also, your mirrors Matte or Satin?

  • Author

Cheers,

They've been done using black bumper paint sprayed from a distance so the paint drys in the air and then lands on the surface giving a crackle sort of effect, an experiment which worked out okay. You can buy the paint from Halfords.

Ah sweet, bought some of that recently for new splitter so can give that a go, presuming I can get these stubbys I've shown an interest in.

Thanks again dude, 'ppreciate it.

  • Author

No problem, they're easy to do as you don't have to prep with primer, just sand down so to get a smooth surface to give the paint something to stick to.

love those new wheels buddy! colour is awesome

bet they will pop when the suns on them! love it! :D

  • Author

Fuck you ben :p Only cos I didn't paint them black centre White dish

I'm actually rocking one cream one black as I decided to paint one about 4 months ago but I ran out of paint so I couldn't do the other and I keep forgetting to do it.

thanks Chrispy Dude, they do shine quite nice in the sun, it's the look I'm going for so I'm happy. :)

Ah crap, thought I was gunna be abit unique going jdm/time attack/motorsport on my polo!

Ahh well, this car is stunning! Colour on those wheels is beautiful, and love the fact you're rocking the standard indies, inspirational :)

Cheers dude,

go for it, I think alot of people this year will be building there cars with this style in mind I reckon.

Yeah, I think it will be big this year :) Sadly I dont have the dosh to go all out and do it as I want now!

I need some deeper dished Ts in my life, my high offset, small dishes just dont cut it now Iv seen this! I notice you said about an engine conversion possibly in the future, what do you have in mind? Or is that some top secret information :p

Plans sound good  the only thing I'm not so keen on is the full tints at the rear but apart from that sounds good.

I agree more people will be going this direction this year, Stanton's golf has been an inspiration to many amongst others.

do you have a picture of the car from the back in the daylight, want to see just how cool these lights look, love the colour of the wheels, tint the orange indicators abit and it will look top :)

  • Author

Thanks fellas

conversion wise it won't be anything special if it happens, 16v or gti are the most probable although you never know :ninga:

only bit I'm no sure is the tints funnily enough but we'll see

haven't got a rear full on shot but will get one tommorow higgo

Also been searching high and low all over the net and really not sure what seats to go for, in an ideal world I would love some brides, a set of zeta111's came up on eBay, the guy wanted 790 for the pair which is cheap but decided against it, thinking of some recaros now either pole positions or furious but they very rarely come up second hand and new for the pair they're about the same as the brides were that were on eBay. Also considering the less expensive cobras and sparcos, they're too many seats out there to choose from

I'm spending too much time in here now, haha, but I'm looking at cobra suzukas or imolas. Maybe a suzuka drivers and imola passengers seat (or even monaco, depending on finances at the time), the imolas wider, I sat in a few cobras at autosport this year, and the imola and monacos were both wide-ish (monaco far more than the imola), not thatttt comfy. IMO, suzuka was nice, obviously its a fairly personal thing.... Driftworks do some really nice custom stitched cobras, but might look a touch wrong in a FWD car...

all the recaros seemed soooo comfy though! :(
