Martin (Revis) went working in Canada for a while with his girlfriend. He's back now I think but no longer has a polo afaik.

That GT of steve's was mine before he had it. Virtually saved from scrap as the orignal engine had had it. Here's a pic from when I went to look at it back in 2004

So it only lasted a few more years? Shame. :(

I've still got the Polo, ongoing project! Have a Mk4 Golf GT TDI as a daily hack to work, and a few other wee cars as play things, when I get the chance to get them road legal!!

alright andy, i remeber meeting you on the way to my aunties, sold you a red eyebrow spoiler? then i think it was you who sold a fucked G40 to my brother??, royal blue or windsor not sure, hadd had a replacement drivers side chassis leg at some point and swas so rotten around the repair work? god that hitng was nail! it promply got ripped apart and the engine lives on somewhere, dont know what happened to it, i half arse fitted it to his GT hatch, gave up with the wiring then he broke it all!

Revis- i remember seeing your beast at BVF 06 iirc.... was a nice motor, got some pics of it karl sent me ages ago when you him and pinches met up in blackpool aswell

Alrite mate, i rememebr meeting you to get that eyebrow. That was quite some time ago! Didnt realise it was your brother who bought the knackered G40. I remember when he bought the car he was saying he only wanted it for the engine, which he reckoned was much quicker than his Mk2 Golf G40's. Glad the engine still lives but you're right about the rest of the car...rust city!!!

I still lurk on here, don't come on much any more though. I've made some good friends through here, but I always liked it when it was smaller. Glad to see it's grown, it's good to see all the hard work of the founders and subsequent committee members paying off, but I've migrated to smaller forums which still have the old e-group atmosphere. I haven't been to a show since 2005, apart from with work. My car gets around though, it's in Max Power every month now.

Club Polo (Polo GT/Coupe S and Polo Coupe Owners Club as it was then) member since October 2000 too - a good 18 months before I signed up to Porka. Felt like a Mk4 Owners Club when I first joined too, but when the pre-94 owners started coming on it balanced out well. Should be back at shows this year with the G40 though, for those who still care, it's due a Spring tidy up and some more power first though.

Bumping this - Was thinking about Darryl's Mk4 G40 (think the name is right?) In green with RH Cups, was in a magazine also.. is the car still around? I'm sure I remember seeing it for sale wthout an engine?!

I used to be here in porka.net days, in fact i think i was like the first member as i was online on the awesome gti forum when porka.net was announced and i registered straight away. Porka.net was set up by a guy from awesome gti, it was apprently going to be a porsche forum at first but for some reason he changed it to a polo forum.

My username was Polo17, then a few years later when Robin ran the forum he changed my username to Alex, but for some reason i can't log on as either username now, hence why i have a different one.

Don't know if anyone remembers but i had a red 1.4se then a silver gti, then moved onto a mk4 golf gti, then a audi a3 2.0t like Robin has and now moved to the dark side.........a bmw! Recently i needed a little run about so found a tidy little mk4 16v which i am starting to get the modding bug on again lol.

This is all years before i was properly into it all, but right back in days before i was at inters 2003 i was buying the mags. Dug out the old Performance VW April 2000 (I was 10!) issue with the PoloG40.co.uk rolling road day feature in it. Are any of you in there?

I have 2 copies of the magazine if anyone would like one?
