hi, got a 9n, and the indicators have stopped "clicking"

i belive this comes through the dash cluster, and a few people have confirmed it, but wont tell me the "mod" to fix it, which i can understand, but beeing a tech , i would actully like to fix it myself

are they still flashing?

the clicking actually comes from the fuse board and more precisely from one of the relay and its the top far right one if i'm not mistaken

did you ever fix it? I get no dash sounds; indicators, fuel, etc. and I'd like to fix it. I'd pay someone to do it, but not much, as I'm pretty tech minded too, so I'd like to try myself

There are, if memory serves correctly, two speakers inside the dash panel which make these noises. You'll either have to replace the whole dash panel or solder new parts in. I can supply (one set) of spare parts if you're interested.

Worth mentioning too that the instrument cluster has an output test in VCDS. If you run through that and it doesn't beep when it says it should then that suggests it's the speaker(s) that have gone.

Also worth trying recoding the CAN gateway with the existing coding (i.e. go to "Recode" but don't change the number, and click "Do it").

Tried both of the above. No faults found and recode didn't fix it. So it's definitely the speakers?

Any update? I'm being told off on the other thread for wanting to fix it myself

attached a few photos, opened up the cluster and found the speaker. does anyone know any more about it? such as where to get a replacement and if it's the speaker or the whole black speaker module holder big that has to be replaced?

Problem solved. The speaker is fixed into a plastic module. Remove the module from a scrap cluster and replace the broken one with it. Sorted! I'll post a guide up soon with instructions and photos on dismantling the cluster.
