hi, you recommend a 5-40 synthetic oil for my gti,

induction kit,remap,magnecor kv85 leads,full decat exhaust system,denso iridium plugs

road use, no idea of temps lol

just wanted to know weather its best using a fully or semi synthetic 5-40, and some of the oils say for good fuel economy,high performance engines,summit about a filter, i just wonderd what would give the best engine performance and protection because my emisions are out anyway from the decat , whats the best buddy?

Just about all 5w-40 oils are synthetic, with a few exceptions. I would go fully synthetic any day, they are a superior oil to a semi synthetic.

Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used) - Standard maximum temperature, not sure what oil is in there, but was on minimum so topped up with some Castrol Magnatec 10w/40 today, currently on 88,000 miles but will probably be around 90,000 by the time I get a chance to do the change if that makes a difference.

You need an oil that meets the VW504 00 spec and these are the suitable we stock

Guy,need some wisdom. Oil for Diesels.

This throws me a bit,though the whole marketing aspect springs to mind. Got a spare can of diesel 10w/40 semi to burn though,wondering what the difference is? They have double the compression of petrol engines,is this a factor or is it just marketing?

Thinking of using it,despite it being semi (i usually use fully) but if its not suitable,should i be using anything particular given that my compression is very high for a petrol? (circa 12.2:1 and on unrestricted intakes)

Where is the sump plug on the 9N and do I need to replace it with an oil change? I jacked it up but couldn't see the plug obviously...?

Oil man, iv got a 6n with a 6n2 GTi engine, BMC induction kit, 4 branch manifold, stainless cat back exhaust, and remap, what oil should i use and also I'm looking at gettin an oil cooler, is a 10 row 235mm wide big enough? cheers

Mikey for your engine is better if you use bike oil becouse is made for high temp and revs
