Maybe so, but the fact they then trashed the car gave him as much legal backing as he could possibly want to refuse a refund.

Oh yeah I'm not saying that the guy isnt a complete tit for giving a refund just commenting on the scary fact that a lot of people think that by putting "sold as seen" on a bit of signed paper seems to mean they are exempt from any responsibilty.

Yeah,it has to be fit for the purpose in which it was sold,and obviously wasn't.

But the buyer should have returned the item in the condition it was sold. By damaging it to such a degree (probably writing it off,actually..), they had thrown that right.

Anything I sell is generally cheap, so it's described as "Sold as seen with defects"
