can we have detailed build shots please

if i give too many details ,then every one will be copying/fitting lol ,,,,ill ge some pics up later on this week ,,regaads the 580bhp this is a true spec of my own v6 turbo ,but isnt going in a polo ,,,ps if it was 100bhp he,ll end up wrapping it around a tree lol

Just to add a little point to this intriguing thread.

You may or may not have seen Rampstyle's Mk1 golf caddy, yellow with a hard-top roof.

He has built many a daft modified VR6, both turbocharged and supercharged (but never at the same time). He's had every one rolling roaded, and none have got anywhere near this 580bhp mark that's being banded around here. Fact is that it's going to last about 30 seconds, due to ripping itself apart.

You thought about up-rating any drive shafts? His current set-up is an R32 on bike carbs at 320bhp, and snapped the shafts clean in 2.

As for having a car for driving down straights, how you going to get to them? I'm sure these straight roads won't be directly outside your house, so you'll have to negotiate a corner or 2 to get there, upon which you'll no doubt either spend most of the time facing the wrong way, or upside down.

Don't want to see an enthusiast getting killed, but the way you're speaking, it sounds like it'll happen within a week of the project being completed.

Power isn't everything, the most fun most people have in car is all about the lateral G's whist driving country roads.

They all have corners.

EDIT:

By the way, the mechanics work is very good, not doubting his skills, I just don't expect any of his customers to respect the work he does. Just becauce my car will do 147mph, doesn't mean I drive 147mph on the commute to work, or indeed anywhere.

FYI the phrase "over and out" has no meaning, "over" means I have finished speaking and I am awaiting a reply, "out" means end of message.

I think if you are going to talk about something you should try and know what your talking about OOPS, too late

hi ,unsure if this was aimed at me or someone else so forgive me if it wasnt ,everyone has they own ways means of a project build wheather its 50bhp or a 1000bhp nuts, rivits or welded,as most think by thowing a daft turbo charger and a big air filter think its going to rip in half ,regards my work ,yes its home made ,it strong suiltable for any mot, i dont dive like a nutter ,its nice to have a little bhp thre if needed ,,if done and tuned right it isnt that hard runing 500plus in a caddy with either a 2.8/2.9/3,2 etc if uve 2 wheel drive it will spin ,so ,maybe an idea to have 5wd on the caddy ,then its 250 rear 250 front ,once in 3rd switch to 2 wheel drive,,,saves a lots of riped drives, and gearboxs going bang ,ps i do have som spare 6speed gearboxs which will hold 500bhp without any probs unlike the early vr6 which 400,20bhp ,any more it will rip the diff or lose you are gears,,,,

it started as 580 bhp cos thats the engine which i was origionally going to put in off adaptorman but then he wanted it for the caddy so i got another of his engines which is the 200bhp vr6.

surely if it was only 200bhp a 1.8t would be a smarter option as its lighter...

as said before 580bhp out of a vr6 would cost a few grand just to build the engine let alone make it reliable,

think this thread has got a bit outta controll

it would of been better to start it with some thing like I'm gonna put a vr6 engine in my polo

not my polo will be faster than all of yours cuz I'm having a turbo vr6 in it,

The comments about your work were aimed at you fella (ADAPTORMAN).

Every credit to the work you do, I suppose the proof is in the pudding, rampstyle have a similar ethos of big power.

You obviously know what you're doing when it comes to the build, it's just I suspect this guys gonna take delivery and stuff it straight away.

surely if it was only 200bhp a 1.8t would be a smarter option as its lighter...

hi phil 580 ut of a vr6.....yes,but a lot get confused a later 24v V6 engine looks similar but isnt a vr6 lump ,take a look at the internals of a 12v vr6 and the internals of a 3.2/3.6 v6 24v,,,i.e differnert cranks, bigger bore ,24v valve better flowing head,6speed better ratios and stronger gearbox, this is why u can shove more bhp .regards the 1.8t yes its lighter but we didnt have one, that why the guy wants a vr6 ... i turboed my mates mk3 vr6 ,everything has std internals apart from a head spacer he runs 400plus not bad from a sts 174bhp ,,i reckon ,soon as i get the caddy sorted were dyno rolling lol,,,that should be fun as theres one at leeds...

sorry but this is bullshit!! everything is done before..

your not the first to build a vr6 engine in a polo! soo you think everything is a secret

we al like the same!! building nice volkswagen,s soo why not giving any pictures...

I'm sorry but this thread smels a bit like bul...

This thread is ridiculous leave your mechanic to do the talking FFS cause you clearly know fuck all about anything you're saying and you've confused literally everyone in this thread into believing you had 580bhp when you really never

VR6 sounds a hell of a lot better than a 1.8T.

There's no replacement for displacement.

i get that but i regard the VR6 as the 2.8 2.9 aaa , or a 2.8 24v as in the v6 4motion

but if its the R32 lump mthen yea iv seen ones with 700 + bhp

VR6 sounds a hell of a lot better than a 1.8T.

There's no replacement for displacement.

too true i miss my VR6 so much jus because i have to drive through a tunnel every day to and from work ,

its jus not the same in the polo

then report it bud and have the therd closed ,,,,,to be its only a engine conversion ,,,as I've better things to do then waste my time responding to daft messages ,so with that ,ill not be adding any more information or pics ,if a mod can close this would be greatfull ,to save any further bander ,,,,ill get poloman to add as well ,

I'm not as bad as quinny....but come on it's taking the biscuit...using commas as ellipses? 4 line posts that are essentially one jumbled up sentence...

i can sort this out its goto confused . com lol look out for my flux capacitor powered mk3

Haven't we been here before?...........(sigh)

hammer.nail, head..........agreed

evern thow ill give the 2weeks until it rolled up side down into a tree  as with all ,young chavs,,,there right foot seems t get clued to the floor

fair play tho mate, seems like you know what your upto, shame kid that owns the polo doesn't have a clue whats going on

polomodifyingbullshit, how sad do you have to be to try and claim some one else's engine was going in your car, did you think no one would notice the lack of turbo's? tit

if you can take a v6 and put it in a polo mate good for you and if you can do it there will be losts of people that you can then say "i told you so" it takes a lot of skill to do that and a lot of time and cash just hope at the end of it all it will be worth it. all the best with the polo

MCLOVIN WAIT WHILE NEXT POLO CRUISE N WEEL SEE YE WHEN A BRING REST OF MY CAMP SITE ALONG. MEK SURE you are THEER PAL WAINT Y

Pardon??

The rest of your 'camp site'???

I'm not down with the youth but......''camp site''????

It woulda been alot easier ti just say I'm getting some1 to build me a vr6 polo, what do you all reckon?

**input pictures of process**

instead you start threads like

''so who won the polo show because my car wasn't there?'':oops:
