1984 Polo CL

Featured Replies

I'm selling my '84 Polo CL (1272cc HK) so I can concentrate my efforts on my '83 Polo LX project.

I bought it in March this year when my Scirocco needed to come off the road. It's had 4 owners (including me) since new, and has a full service history for the first 20-odd years of ownership, when it did around 2000 miles per year. The chap I bought it from had had it about 2 years and nearly doubled the mileage to about 45k. It's now done 47k.

I gave it a fluid and filters service after I got it and replaced a couple of other bits like the rocker cover gasket and the bent rear bumper.

It passed its MoT at the end of July needing only a couple of rubber exhaust hangers which were missing - that's all. I also had the cambelt changed with the Mot, so you've got ages before you need to worry about that.

The only faults I can think of are an occasional hesitation when accelerating and the rear wiper/demister doesn't work because the wires are broken at the tailgate.

It's got all the receipts for parts since I bought it and comes with a set of genuine VW rubber floor mats.

You can hopefully see my member's gallery post here:

I'd like £600 which includes 10 months' tax and test, a set of pressed metal German-style plates and a few spares, but not the wheels - it will be sold on standard steels.

Located in central Birmingham.
