i bought this a while back as a project car to bring back to its former glory, i have spent a lot more than i wanted to on it so far and I'm running out of cash for my very expensive garage bill which is ever increasing. i dont want to sell it but i need to so i can finish off my garage with the cash before the weather gets even worst and i can pay off bills for materials used. will be gutted to see it go as i bought this with an idea of keeping it for years.

bad points

ideally it needs a respray as there is a small amount of laquer peeling and there is a bump which needs to be done on the rear drivers 1/4. I'm not happy with the front arch as the plastic is cracked, and if i was to keep it i would also replace the wing along with the arch as the wing is the only rusty bit on the car i can see. the interior is mint apart from the 2 front door cards as the previous owner cut holes out for speakers and the door cards got wet because they removed the plastic behind the door card.

good points

rare colour, new timing belt kit fitted, new fan belt, new spark plugs, new plastic sill fitted, new drivers and passenger suspension arms fitted with new bushes, new anti-roll bar links fitted. just passed mot with no advisories. feels quicker than my old vr6 golf. just been undersealed using tetroseal, new stainless steel fuel lines from fuel pump, new exhaust rubbers. mk3 wiper stalks fitted, new boot lock from vw, new aero wipers, new original pedal rubbers.

the car was originally brought from overseas it was originally an import from overseas on 26/7/1993 and it does say golf gti 16v on log book. I was recently let down by a bidder on ebay who was the highest bidder but i deleted his bid as he was sending me messages the night before the auction ended saying he was pulling out as he believed it wasnt a genuine gti 16v. I have been contacted by a member of the mk2forum who advised me that it was definately a genuine example as he knew the cars previous owners before he even knew me.

looking for £950 for quick sale but willing to take offers or px's welcome.

what you got? looking for something vag

if this isnt gone before i start my new job then i will be keeping it to get to work.

when i bought this car it had been off the road for 2-3years. there was mould all over it, bits hanging off. fan belt was squeeling like a pig ect. but i looked past that as they were all easy jobs which made a world of difference when they were all done. This could be made into something special in the right hands.

Any questions feel free to call on 07515004922

Test drives are welcome as long as you have relevant insurance because my insurance just ran out
