this is 100% a scammer, i have got together as much information as i can on this guy

detective dan spotted a similar post on another forum and the ip and email matched

i will put the information i have together and supply to one of the club polo administrators so if anyone needs information to supply to the police, they can

I rumbled him in the other thread, new for a fact it was a scam cos the car he was breaking was on ebay and sold a few weeks back.

they never do mate, he reported me to the mods and Nick S pmd me telling me to stop it and that

irelevant anyway, they could hardily start deleting accounts from what you said tho

and end of day it wouldnt have changed anything

i didnt ask for his acount to be deleted, i just put a post up on the car he was breaking thread warning people not to buy from him as it was a scam but my post was reported and deleted

well I'm not the admin but they prob didnt have much evidence to convince them

its all a bit shit really!

yeah, it is shit, especially when i had alot of evidence proving that he was! Jason11 is supposed to be meeting him tomorow regarding the leather seats, so we shall see lol

Bear in mind that the number of PMs the mods/admin get about supposedly dodgy sellers is ridiculous.

99% of the time it's a moron complaining when they sent someone the money and they've not heard anything from the seller for 30 seconds, so they start shitting themselves. The number of 'I sent him a cheque 3 days ago and I've not received anything' complaints is particularly annoying.

Sadly in this case it seems like this seller isn't genuine - but you must recognise that we can't take any action until there's hard evidence that this is the case, otherwise we'd be banning someone every time a random user made a complaint. The forum rules do say that private sales are at your own risk!

I have a set of excellent condition 1.6 gti alloys for the polo which are in excellent condition, not one of them has a single mark. all four tyres have 6mm of tread.

Same here, just about everything I buy and sell off here is by meeting people. I could never buy a £200 item without seeing it first, especially not wheels!!

Also think about how much a mint set of GTi BBS wheels are actually worth, 6mm tyres too, why would anyone sell those as cheap as £140?!

Unfortunately if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is..

I hope all of you get your money back & that this doesn't happen again.

Let it be a lesson be only deal with genuine club members or whom you know or friends know, cash in hand is the best deal. lucky i didnt send the cheque, was kinda fishy with the cheap offer as mentioned
