Haha :-p

I will have pictures uploaded after college tonight, promise

I've broke the suspension in anyhoo, as she dropped even more on her ass last night. Not rubbing the tyres yet but has been some arch rubbing on bouncing heehee, does rub when in reverse though. It doesn't scrape as much as you think it would, it's weird... My only concern is ripping the pipe off the manifold from the engine as she's that low. Will get it risen after UD, can't get her in anytime before, eek :?

Questions

My rev counter stopped working last night when I started her up, then 5 mins later started working again, so off I went. What would that be? Is it run off a fuse? I have no idea and if you don't ask you don't know

Also, she's not misfiring anymore, well hasn't for past few days, but upon idling is cutting out (happens at least once in a journey) battery light flashes and then dead goes. If I keep the revs up this doesn't happen. She's been set to sit just above 10 this time, would this be timing?

Rev counter is controlled by a wire that goes off the coil, it could be possible that its slightly loose or a bad connection after fitting the new coil.

as for the idling I'm not sure, iirc gs are meant to idle at 850-950rpm, the golf gti is crazy adn the specs say it should idle at 750-850rpm!!!

you cam will be responsible for a non consistent idle as they run lumpier than standard cams, but why its cutting out I'm not too sure

Wire or a fuse, I knew it was one off them

Yeah, she was running fine before at 950, so I need him to put it back as she was cause I had no problems before when she was like that. Mmm, see something is up though, cause I filled her up Monday night and shes empty and I've only done 175 miles  I usually get over double that  What would be the cause off that?

I need the sparks cleaned cause I'm 100% sure at least one is blacked up and causing the cutting out. Would timing being out cause the cutting out though? She's done it loads today too, fucking gaybots! Yeah she is cammed to the balls, mmm you can hear it when she's purring along, it makes me sex wee :wasted:

He also rekons the oil seals are on their way out too, hence she's smoking more than before... Never ending rapeage

Thanks for the reply santasafamon!

Photos as promised... Yeah, she's dirrty, get over it :-p

damn thats low...needs raising at the back haha!

whats the ride like?

stiff? or pretty forgiving with them being KW's

  • Author

Haha I swear people think I'm oblivious to it being low at the back, when really I'm not :disgust:

Her ass will be coming up, as much as I want to leave her where she is, I can't, as it won't be long before she's eating my tyres

The ride my dear is fucking amazing  It really is a little go kart now, I love it!

sweet!

my old GT used to be terrible compared to my GTi (on kw's)

i didnt think good rides existed on lowered cars

It can be bouncy as fuck, but from what I've had so far on 200+ miles, it's all been good  No complaints here, just lots of smiles heehee

Backwards bollocks on a bonfire! Scrub much?

can't help but feel if you raise the exhaust a bit you could go a little lower?

maybe get some fat chicks in there?

Hey, just a quick one, how easy/difficult was it to fit the petrol tank?

I have a fuel leak atm. :/

Gutted.

Rob.

Wow ... i personally would say raise it at the back slightly and maybee slightly at the front just for the better driving experience .. (so you can spank it around roandabouts)

I want coilies now :(

That exhaust is tucked up as much as it can be, i need a different back box. But for now, it works and money is an issue so it'll have to come with time

Hi Rob, I didn't fit it haha wish I did, but I can find out for you if you like? Some of the lads on here should be able to help out with advice on that one. Think it was pretty straight forward tbh or he would have moaned at me about what a pain in the ass she was

Haha I don't think I can take another person telling me to raise the back when I already know I've got too and have said that's what I'm doing :smirk: Ass is coming up tomorrow hopefully, if not next week for deff  We left it as she was to see how I got on with it and to let them settle, thats all

Get some!

I lied  He just didn't moan to me about, it was a right cont and you'd probably need a day to do it!

Car has to be at least 2ft off the floor, getting the filling tank nozzle out is the hardest bit, as mine fell off haha and make sure the pipes go back on in the right order (for the fuel sender/pump). Won't be able to do it on your own unless your really clued up and can balance and screw, so a mate to help out would be a plan

it look ssuper low in those pics, looks like my mates did when we piled 5 of us in the boot HAHA

thats crazymad low, no passengers FTW :)

looks well dirrty

is this a saxo in descise!!

REVERSE RAKE ANYONE?

Dont how i missed this thread!

Nice to see as it seems there arn't as many G40 love threads as there used to be!

The timing won't cause it to cut out, judging by your fuel consumption either your lambda or blue temp sensor is fuckered which might cause the cutting out. Usually if the lambda has died it will play up when warm where as if its the blue temp then it will do it consistantly from cold. From my experience in the last few months

Keep going

Everyone misses this thread  Then they say do this and I'm like I already have haha

I've now put £4K into her :-o Fucking crazy!!!

Lambda was lazy in operation whilst at Jabba, but has been fine. I don't fix anything unless it's broken now I've got no money haha. Time for new sensor then me thinks :smirk: Cheers carver

Looks good mate.

Nice and loww
