Up for grabs is my Mk1 golf clipper cab. Its in very nice codition! Come see for yourself.

BODY

Its very solid which is the main concern usually when buying a mk1. The body work is not perfect but not bad, it has a few dinks here and there and a couple of small minor scabs of surface rust but all in all its rather good. The hood is also in tip top condition with no rips tears or scratches, and has just had a new lower tension cable fitted. Also the rear window frame is not rusted at all like most are! (not even a little bit!)

RUNNING GEAR

As you can see the car is pretty low due to running on height adjustable coil overs. So if you want it lower or higher you can with a turn of a few spanners. Id also like to point out that the threads on the coilovers were well and truly greased up so wont be seized at all! And on the end of the suspension is some very nice ATS Classic wheels in the 13" variety and stretchy tyres complete with very expensive H&R hubcentric spacers for the front. The car has also been fully polly bushed front and rear with brand new wishbones so yes its a little go cart round the corners! I've also recently put new pads on the front and rears and all the flexi lines are braided!

INTERIOR

Likewise the interior is very nice too. Bolster on the drivers seat is not ripped but a little saggy. And in the back there is a small fag burn but thats it, otherwise very nice indeed. Not missing any small clips or plastic interior bits like most mk1's. I've also tarted a few bits and pieces up such as the silver trim round the dash and vents, chromed retro window handles front and rear. I've also installed some uprated fusion component speakers in the front and some infinity cappa 6x9's in the rear. But i have taken the stereo out as it was needed for the other car, but all wiring etc is there complete with standard ISO plug so any new stereo should fit straight in and work

ENGINE

Engine wise it has had a few tweaks and improvements along with a thorough servicing. Its a 1.8 engine, to this i have installed a gti cam, gti manifold and gti exhaust (brand new middle section) and downpipe. Along with this there is a webber carb in place of the usual troublesome pierburg with a k&n style pannel filter. Due to these little tweaks it doesent half go! Its also recently had the head re-conditioned, new head gasket, new water pump, new cam belt, new battery (still with warranty) and also an uprated 90amp alternator, its also been treated to some polly urethane engine mounts. A brand new radiator, spark plugs, HT leads, oil filter and oil (quantum synta silver). Due to all this its very reliable and always starts no problem at all.

EXTERIOR

The exteriour has also had a few suble changes. The lights and indicators on the front have been changed for crystal clear ones, and so have the side repeators. The grill has been changed for an OEM silver framed single lamp with chrome badge version. The rear lights have also been changed for M3 stye crystal versions. I've also installed an electric ariel but unfortunatly no longer goes up and down by itself.

What more can i say, it DOES NOT LEAK! All in all a real nice example of a mk1 cab which you should really arrange to come and see for yourself (preferably with cash in hand!) Dont know if you noticed but it also has nearly 12 months tax and mot too, i will even put some petrol in if your nice. We will be sad to see it go but with an expanding family it is no longer practical as an everyday car for us. Oh nearly forgot I've got lots of bits and bobs that you might be interested in along with the car such as brand new brembo disks, origional OEM 3 point US seat belts for the rear, complete with all needed bits, and a 22mm master cylinder and 9" servo brake upgrade. Plus a box full of parts that I've replaced or collected along the way. Oh and i know it makes no odds but i was one of the previous owners on the log book before transfering it to my wife.

Last but not lease. Please Please Please do not let the fact that it is an auto put you off! Come and drive it and you will see why. All i can say is that its a very nice auto box and does not drive like some other manufacturers spazzy auto cars. Honest try for yourself. At the end of the day if you really want a manual then convert it if you must cos your gonna struggle to find another cab as nice as this.
