Exactly what i did. i ended up using a metal tent peg welded on. Its doing the job well as it hasnt dropped off yet :lol:

Mines just snapped again so being held with a cable tie and a bungy cord at the moment and my mot is coming up so gotta rectify it asap.

For anyone with a snapped hook, I've found a replacement hook for a mk2 golf on ebay which bolts on. As soon as it arrives and I've had a play with the drill and a bolt ill report back.
