I Had A Bit Of A Stupid Moment

Featured Replies

While looking randomly through eBay last night I spotted this beaut of a car at the very reasonable price of £70. So I managed to talk myself into sticking in a bid for £100, thinking I would easily get outbid. Well, I didnt. So I am now the proud owner of a 1982 Austin Mini Metro 1275 Auto. Only 44k from new with every bill and MOT to back it up. Bargain at £100 lol. Although I know have the dilema of what the hell to do with it.

Well I've owned most other cars in my 5 years of driving (we have totalled it to 23 so far) so its about time I had a Metro I suppose lol!

would make a great little track weapon with a small turbo engine in it. Plus you could probably fit it into the back of that masssssive yank truck thing you've bought, easy to take it to and from track days :)

Hehe yeh I was measuring the back of the truck earlier to see how close it was to fitting. Its actually not that far off lol. Yeh I was thinking trackday weapon.

Yes we are

since the chavs are moving onto vws are we moving onto metros?

Nice 1 sam! Iv always fancied a metro to muck about with. Shame its an auto though, I need a 1275 for my mini!

haha, a metro! No, with afew little touches, that could be a right little sleeper.

slam it so it actually touches the floor, rat it up with style and bling boi!

1.8 16v VVC 160bhp K-series,that's what you need. You'll also need a Rover Metro/100 for all the other bits - just a tatty rusty one would do.

And some minerals - it aint a sunday afternoon job to convert the Austin shell for the K-series.

What is it with everyone getting metros these days?

Basically, it's to put it into context for everyone who's got a mate who thinks their polo's shit.

don't the allegro 1600 engines fit in these? i was told they fitted in to minis so would assume it to be true of these too?

looks slammed already!!.........unless the suspension is broke LOL

i saw a full rear axle set up from one of these at the side of the road once, the rest of the car was at the end of some very large scrape marks round the corner

Don't go there, my Brother just bought one as well, tried to convince him that there is still good VW Polo's and Golf's out there, that need owners and have and still make good cars, but he's joined the darkside...
