Yes folks – it’s that time again….the time to get together with friends old

and new and celebrate the festive season in style.

The Herts VW Christmas meal is here...

Date: Friday 12th December 2008

Time: 7.30 for an 8pm start

Venue: The Royal Oak

Price: £16.50 per head

And now for the important bit – the menu is as follows:

Starters:

Soup of the day

King Prawn Cocktail

With Marie Rose sauce, brown bread & butter

Wild and Button Mushrooms

On focaccia with Stilton and crisp sweet cure bacon.

Chicken Liver & Brandy Pate

With Pink Lady apple chutney and toast

Mains:

Succulent Roasted Turkey

With Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, pig in blanket, gravy & cranberry sauce,

steamed green beans, brussel sprouts, chanteray carrots, honey roasted

parsnips, new & roast potatoes.

Cod Loin

Baked with a crushed pea crust, tomato garlic sauce, new potatoes &

seasonal greens.

8oz Rump Steak

with seasoned chips, onion rings, char-grilled plum tomato, flat mushroom &

garden peas.

Venison Pie with redcurrant & quince

served with mashed potato & seasonal greens

Pumpkin Risotto

with roasted sweet peppers, goats cheese and tomato, topped with rocket

Desserts:

Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce

Rich Chocolate Yuletide Log with whipped cream and blackberries

Sticky Toffee & Date Pudding with caramelised pecans & vanilla ice cream

Raspberry Jelly served with crème fraiche & fresh raspberries
