I was having a quick look through an Ed***on 38 discussion on 'stance' and someone had this up- now deleting mirrors, side repeaters, wipers is all fair enough, but this..?

Smoothing is a dark art- it's often as much about what you leave on as what gets smoothed out.

See I look at that Polo and think, ok fine so he's smoothed off the rear end but it's now completely featureless. It looks like a vast expanse of solid colour, and that doesn't look cool. But why go to all that effort to smooth it, then leave the ugly standard door handles on there? And the bonnet vents. Respect for the DIY, but the end result is a mess.

I reckon if you wanted to give a smoother look to a Mk3 you just need to lose the side rubbing strips, rear badge and wiper, side repeaters, fit Audi style door handles and smooth the bonnet and seams below the rear lights. Go any further than that and it doesn't work.

Was that Corsa white before green?

Smoothing is awful if you go to far...... smoothing the bumpers into the wings and all, making the car one piece? Looks awful and impractical....

no offence to either owner but i think they both look hanging, i really liked the corsa before he got chequed banded steels and the mk3 olops behind looks like an aliens face

but fair play to having a mess about with thier rides, if everything looked the same it'd be poop, and we need homebrew and ricer rides to mix in with the oem and euro whores

Both the Corsa and Polo were developed in Germany,but both (except pre-89 polos) were made in Spain.

They're both the same nationalities.

Incidentally,VW used Opel design to develop the first Polos - which is why they're so similar in some sizes (offsets,brake fittings etc).

The Corsa is the Polo's closest sister outside VAG.

i dont actually mind the corsa...lol better than it being some plastic body kitted piece of w*nk!!!! imo would look better without the spoiler

people might know but by reading what it used to look like...is this the emo kid that got featured in fast car as part of the "wannabe" rat feature lol

why do any cars that ain't registered in Germany have German plates?

and that corsa has as much right to have a German plate on it than any uk registered mk3-4 polo.

well it aint german for a start thats why..... its like me going and puttin a french plate on mine....people would be like, wtf :-S

dude your car was built in Spain by Spanish people, putting a French plate on it would make about as much sense as putting a German one's on it

not too keen on the rear but the front looks cool as fuck imo, maybe tint the headlights next to add to the stealthy look?

that exhaust must be loud as fuck tho

i think German plates look silly on all cars that ain't living in Germany tho tbh. (including mine, they were on it when i got it and as much as i dislike them, there are much more important things to sort on the car before i waste money on new plates lol). i wonder if you see German cars driving around the father land rocking uk plates? lol

It doesnt matter where the car's built specifically.. its where its designed and where the company is from.

Polo was designed and developed in Germany, just cause it was assembled in Spain doesnt make it in-German.

This thing about German plates.. the car's German, we like it, hence people like to put German style plates on.

but both the aston and mini were designed and built in england and are quintessentially English and are a massive part of the British motoring heritage, the polo just has a vw badge lol, but saying that i very much doubt the Germans would be lame enough to put a uk style plate on there German registered car, i may be proved wrong and if some one can then i will publicly apologize and admit i'm wrong... but i doubt that will happen

My polo is German.

I bought it off a little old German lady called Gretel.

It was bought from and serviced at the main dealers every year (a very German thing to do!)

It had a tape of Bavarian choirs singing movie themes of the 70s in the tape deck..

Maybe built in Madrid, but, my friend, as German as Sauerkraut and invading Poland...

so it came as standard with German plates? (witch would back up my argument) or your just making it all up and its not from Germany, never had an owner called Gretal and wouldn't know the Bavarian choirs if it tried to gas it in the name of the perfect race? (after all we know the golf is the perfect race and the polo is the jew of the vw family lol).
